Considering Dexcom TM Position

Considering Territory Manager position. Is it a good move? Are goals realistic? Any insight on position and comp would be appreciated.

dexcom is considered one of the WORST companies to work for.
sorry for the bad news.
even if you interview with a good manager, that manager will move on in a few years, and you are stuck with the terrible culture forever.

The goals and data are always wrong. Operationally Dexcom is a mess. Moral is low. Great product that no one can get or make money from except the execs. The Sales Director ignores the many concerns that have been brought up by TMs. No one has a straight answer on anything. I made more money in pharma.

It seems as though Dexcom has lost it way. How can we clearly have a superior product and fail so short operationally? We have lost a slew of upper management to retirements, spend more time with their family, or just plain leaving for greener pastures. The last few months we've had departures from multiple key departments, What gives? Many of us were told of what bonus potential could be but few have achieved it to any degree of consistently. Many sacrificed significant reductions in base pay with the understanding that Dexcom pays Reps significant bonus $$ for growing the business. The continual moving of the carrot in goal and indexing smacks of bonus $$ hold back. Yet the company continues to profit handsomely on a quarterly basis? Again what gives? Did all the execs leave with their pockets lined with Dexcom $$ millions and we're left with the our coffers empty? Looks like Dexcom has shifted towards the turn and burn Abbott Diabetes model of treating sales. And don't get me started on that last national call. Why bother soliciting question from the field sales and we respond with real concerns with IC, Indexing, PTO, and corporate CC and each question we were given a crappy non answer. If they want people to leave continue down this path and see what happens.

Bravo to the last comment. Could be more truth in every word. I have never felt more used than I do at Dexcom. Someone is laughing to the bank and it isn’t me. Perhaps because I am still fronting money on their behalf that is pulling teeth to get reimbursed. The CEO pretends to be aloof to the low moral and Joe acts like a father figure from the antiquated “because I said so” generation. Toxic bully.

Question for the field- are you required to get Covid vaccine boosters for HR as well as your hospital facilities? Won't go into it, but been vaccinated a while back but will not do any boosters/ongoing vaccines. Is the initial dose adequate? Appreciate the response!

You may need them for hospital access/ rep credentialing services, depending on the territory.

Thought I might bump this thread up since a position just opened up near me. Feelings on this thread still the same? Anyone happy and doing well here? Base salary seems a bit low per the LinkedIn job, so is the commission structure pretty healthy? Appreciate any info!

Doesn't seem like this board is too active, which is for me a good sign.
I do have a question as well: is the TM position here more like a pharma gig with manager ride-alongs, messaging, etc.? Been in pharma, now in med device in diabetes and looking at a role here but worried about the culture.

Medical devices and unnecessary testing are the next wave of waste and drug pumping. Why should taxpayers pay for a bunch of negative tests?

The solutions are in lifestyle changes namely diet and exercise. We don't need Swiss mix.

One of their lifeless recruiters ghosted me today. When I reached out to her to ask why she didn’t call me for our interview, she said she was having difficulty with “the phones” and had to submit a ticket to IT. This was just a first phone screen. A cell phone would have worked just fine, which all companies use anyways, so not sure what lie she attempted to feed me, but I gave it right back. I let OH in SD, CA know that her unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated and you can’t ghost candidates and get away with it, with zero consequences. Soooo I told her to kindly insert some tirz in her big ole tummy, you double chinned ffattt b**ch. her LinkedIn is consumed with how she’s always looking for the best cheeseburger. That’s literally her intro on LinkedIn, how much she loves cheeseburgers. Okay gen z. We get it. You’re a slob. But I’ll win in the end. Give it time, chubbbbb give it time.

Question for current reps- are these positions popping up over issues and frustrations with the new G7? I work fork another diabetes company and am hearing about some problems with my endos. 2 TM positions are open near me.
