Conference Call Tomorrow

I've been told we won't hear much including the details about our benefits including the auto program. They will spend the next couple of months figuring out which is the least expensive option for them whether it be giving a car or car allowance.

The changes planned will be huge, but won't immediately happen. We are losing the majority of our marketing team as well as several district managers.

I don't want to be affiliated with a narcotic/generic company. I've asked myself if I was looking for a job would I interview with Mallinckrodt and the answer is no. I don't even want them on my resume.

Why are we losing managers and what huge changes???

There is truth to that statement, but I'm not sure of the specifics in what they are describing. They are analyzing under performing territories and if some will be merged. The same is true with managers. They are considering the need for less of them. This is to be expected as they start to crunch the numbers.

Yikes. Most territories are under performing. Less than 30% are above quota. Not many will get above base vials ! Terrible comp plan!

I've already seen the beginnings of Big Pharma and I prefer being with a small company. Looking now.

Dude you are so right. I left a big company and came onboard for Cadence and it wasn't about the money. I was doing well at my prior company, but like working for a small company better. People have no clue how many changes are going to happen and none will be good. Will they happen right away? Of course not. They don't want a huge swell of reps quitting right now. Not yet any way.

They will keep Cadence the same for 5 months with some annoying changes and extra paperwork here and there. Then after, we will really see big changes. I've got my calls into recruiters too.

It's so sad we will be losing so many from the marketing team. Let's be honest, everyone in home office would be foolish including RSL if they didn't at least have "feelers" out to all the recruiters. Many will be gone within the next 6 months as they find new jobs. Fortunately, California is filled with many similar opportunities. I've noticed how quiet home office has been and it's not hard to see why morale has completely been crushed.

It's not very attractive to move from San Diego to St. Louis. Soon Cadence will be a memory and once RSL is gone it's over as far as culture.

RSL is a smart man. They are not fully coming out and saying everyone has to move to St. louis including him as they dont want him to quit as this is a critical time. He has absolutely no intention of moving out of California
For now, he has to play nice and act excited until he finds another opportunity. Once he is gone, many will follow.

Exactly !!! Don't you think after being around for 150 years they would have figured the car thing out! Fleet or no fleet! What about the people who just signed new leases??? Obviously they have to say everything is going to be great. We will see in 6 months where this is headed. They sounded very corporate big pharma.

It's big pharma. I challenge anyone from the Cadence sales force that can list anything good about being Mallinckrodt now with the exception of one benefit - a 401k match. Of course they are going to say "we have no intention of changing anything" now, but as everyone knows it will just get worse over time. If we all wanted to work at a big pharma company, there are so many other companies with greater reputations in pharmaceuticals with NOVEL compounds and a rich R&D that gets respect from physicians. Over the next several months, paperwork and policies will be added to justify several jobs from various departments from Mallinckrodt.

If they cared anything about us, they would be able to make the benefits happen at a faster pace, but this is typical of big pharma. It's not like they haven't had a lot of time to think about this. Yes, I agree. What about the car issue. We call need to know these things now from a personal financial standpoint.

Lets looks at this logically. Is RSL going to move? NO. I do agree with the other comments he may act like everything is okay until he finds another paying job. We would all do this. He may even have to get an apartment in St. Louis because he certainly isn't going to move his wife to St. Louis. This would all be temporary until a new job is found on the west coast. Likewise for the marketing team. Scott, Christy, etc. will not move and I am certain they are all using this time looking for new positions. Other great people like Rye aren't going to move. I bet at most 2 people will stay in Marketing at best. They skirt the San Diego issue because they are not going to keep San Diego. All the administrative positions will be eliminated.

An earlier comment was very poignant. Outside of this purchase, would you interview for Mallinckrodt? I'd be willing to bet most, if not all, would tell the recruiter THANKS BUT NO THANKS.

Pipe down and go to work you can't do anything about this so go sell something.
