Company Changes (layoffs)

To all the people complaining that they can't work from home and take care of their children, you are going to get us all furloughed.... you need to figure out how to do it. It's either that or we don't have a job.

CHINA owes the world for this. They hid this epidemic, they hid it from the world. Are bats really that good to eat that you have to wipe out the world for it

Pretty sure the Chinese are also wondering if American pizza and burgers are really that good to eat that those would cause obesity, diabetes, and heart disease that actually annually kills millions more than coronavirus has killed in the time its been here.

Hey, I started this thread so we could have an uncluttered discussion about ours and the companies future. The polarizing, political people are back.

Could you guys just keep that discussion on the other thread so I don't have to start another new one.

This thread has been fairly reasonable with some much needed humor thrown in. Some valid points made but again it all is going to be a function of time. 2 cent prediction: If it is May 1st and we are looking at another 4-8 weeks of restrictions it is very possible we will be looking at furloughs. IMHO the entire business model of pharma is not going to permanently change due to this crisis. Perhaps less reps bigger territories but again you can't compete with a rep in the field via digital.

Amen, shut the F up and stop asking stupid questions on CC. We are all being very productive from home right???

Today's call...
Can someone tell Frenchie Boy to look at the camera and be a bit more empathetic...He looked like he was bothered by the whole thing (no wonder he like KM). Oh... and a big shoutout to IT...what a juke
The animal guy looked interested, understanding, composed and willing to share a good word.
It is not what you say it is how you say it...basic communication skills 101.

well, we will likely have 100,000 to over 200,000 less patients to deal with. Vast majority of those are Medicare aged demographic. That will cause abandonment rates to increase for our respiratory category.

The population of the USA is roughly 300 million. Without sounding totally callous an unfortunate loss of 200k is not really going to change much. The much bigger issue is people being unemployed and unable to afford their meds.

I completely agree. The world doesn’t revolve around you. If it’s too much for you than you should be the one’s that get downsized. Instead, the rest of us will pay the price for your whining.

unemployed people will file for Cobra, marketplace or Medicaid. They will be able to get their meds.

now, if a ton of people go to Medicaid, that hurts our bottom line.

So here is my two cents and no name calling. This week several virtual lunches were done with offices. It's just getting started and there are more individual doctor offices open than large medical centers. Buck up, start doing the lunches and keep in touch with your HCPs. They will remember who thought about them and their well being once this is over. You are the master of your own future and you can influence it by what YOU do during this time. So my advice is get off of CP, start making some calls to others who have done virtual lunches and start calling your offices and get them set up. They are extremely appreciative of the time and the HCP comes to the call to see you so that you can do it so win/win. This could be the way of the future so get with it now. We have actually had several office managers calling up and asking if we were doing this since they are still working in the office.

Start by calling and asking them how they are doing. Then ask if they need samples. Then ask if they would like to have lunch sent and walk them through what it takes. Almost 100% response from those working. Try it, you may actually get more from this than you think.....job security

Have you seen the cost of cobra? I think most people would roll the dice. And do you know how long it takes to apply and be accepted for Medicaid?

medicaid takes 45-60 days to process application for enrollment. Only thing that could delay it further is if the enrollee has a disability.

cobra ain’t cheap.
