Companies are hiring, be humble & honest

I am the original poster and apologize to any/all who perceived my message as arrogant. Not the intent. My intent was to be transparent and apparently to some I failed.

My intent is agnostic, from my perspective as a commercial leader.

Yes, I am old school and will retire soon.

I know more about the state of the industry than many and I believe it is healthy for those who are willing to relocate, pursue goals, and understand that work/life balance—includes the willingness to relocate and sacrifice.

That said, I hope the advice I shared will help at least one person.

Again, I am agnostic.

For what it is worth, I will do my best to help Sage employees in my network because I care.

Hoping others do as well.
Thanks for the message. Please provide me with your phone # or eMail address so I can contact you. Better yet, I will buy you lunch so we can meet face to face.

God Bless All During this time.

Hard pass on ever going back to Big Pharma OP! I appreciate that you are looking out for us and giving advice but I agree with the other poster that I have learned more skills and gained so much experience working cross-functionally in the last year and a half here at Sage than ever would have been possible in Big Pharma. I love the challenge of being in on the ground floor and helping to build an organization. In fact I am only interviewing for small Biotech or Pharma startup companies with solid potential and a mission that I can align myself with. Big Pharma may be "Safe" but the dangers in life are infinite and among them is safety.
This!!! ☝️☝️☝️

I think what the OP is trying to get across is that one drug start ups carry risk. There is a trade off with Big Pharma culture but we’d have more security....easier to play the long game. I get it.

I’m already close to getting an offer with a Big Pharma Biologics company. Double digit growth brands with a manager that everyone likes. If I have to fill out a tracker to make his boss happy then so be it.

The tone was condescending and arrogant. Everything is risky including plenty of big pharmas and going to the grocery stores

hence the phrasing of TRYING to get across. Sure everything is risky. But some are riskier than others...like a one drug company for a medicine not yet approved would be riskier than an organization that has been around for decades...maybe even centuries....that have a presence in multiple disease states, multiple divisions, with multiple molecules in phase 2 and 3.

We rolled the dice and it didn’t work out. For those of us with families to support this is a lesson learned. At least it is for me. Best of luck to all

best of luck to you too. Yes we rolled the dice and here we are. Lessons learned, skills acquired, new colleagues and relationships made. However, there are multiple examples of big companies with multiple products and long histories of being in business laying people off. Pfizer, GSK, BMS, AZ, Lilly and on and on along with lots of start ups like Sage. It comes with the territory. Best of luck to all!
