College Football: Will the SEC "6 Peat"

CORRECTION:

Best hoops conf in nation: SEC

Congrats to Kentucky for bringing home another National Championship to the SEC.
Additionally the SEC now holds 6 National Titles in a row in Football, 3 National Titles in a row in Baseball, and is the current reigning National Champ in Basketball. Damn that has to hurt the little tenners out there.

I have to give it to Butch for cheering for Kentucky all season. Looks like he finally picked a winning team- albeit outside of the little ten.

So the question becomes "will the SEC 2 Peat in Basketball, 4 Peat in Baseball, and 7 Peat in Football"? That's an easy one...Yes.

2PEAT
4PEAT
7PEAT

Here's a quote from Chris Low, the columnist for ESPN:

Jacob (Charlotte)

Chris, how can anyone arge that the SEC is not the premier men's sports conference in the land? Alabama - football national champions, South Carolina - baseball national champions, Kentucky - basketball national champions. That is pure dominance.

Chris Low (1:41 PM)

The only people who argue that are people who don't know what they're talking about ... or people who don't put a lot of stock in winning championships in the major sports.

Sorry Mr. Akron, I now decline to participate in this total waste of my time in this idiotic thread. You have some serious issues with your jealousy and hatred of OSU. I cannot diagnose your mental issues, but you need help. There is a more happy and fun way to go through life.
It was "fun" for a while, with the "tit and tat", however I now realize I have spent too much time with this absurd posting. We only have so much time on this spinning piece of dirt, and I intend to spend mine having fun. (retired, wealthy, and moving to a new condo-over 500K) I refuse to provide you any more entertainment to hide behind a keyboard and post your idiotic things. OSU is the #1 athletic school in the nation, and for some reason, it is driving you nuts.
I did not expect the Bucks to make it to the Elite 8, let alone the final 4. We love our town, our Bucks and our friends. I feel sorry for a person who pretends to follow college FB, but cannot divulge their alma mater. The only thing I can think of is that you are still in high school and got rejected from OSU. You should have worked harder. I didn't have to back then cause I was accepted with a lowly 3.1 GPA.

The great thing about this post, is that I get the last word. You are reading this and gritting your molars. I will NEVER open this idiotic string again. It is so sad to not have an alma mater you can really root for and get excited about.
We have it all. FB, BB, wrestling, tennis, et al. Name it. This city is the college sports capital of the world. Period. No debate. 60 degrees today and blue skies. Wonderful happy hour at a Buckeye bar on the patio. You can take your stupid posts and shove them where your Mom's sun doesn't shine. Also, you are so obviously a very angry typical drug rep who is scared to death (if you aren't a kid using your computer) of your future. Too bad you aren't 55 like I am, and made a fortune and retired at 48. Promotions every year. No such luck for you boys.
I will not open your reply, and I know you will grit your molars, however, this is the case. I got the last word. You have NO school to root for, your only joy in life is to hate OSU. I would feel really bad if someone from OSU murdered someone in your family, but that is the only thing at this point that makes sense.
We will be in the top 5 in the nation in all major sports for decades. It was a great time, and my whole family are OSU alumni. You have NO school to mention due to your shame. That is so sad.
We look forward to all sports around here and love our city, our university and our friends. Everything is scarlet and grey all year round.
I wear my Orange Bowl ring very proudly and am asked constantly about it. (due to the sheer size of it. You may not know what a bowl ring looks like, but I am typing right now with mine on, for crushing Colorado.)
Have a miserable life, or go see a shrink pronto. You need help. I can only hope your mother did not get raped or something by an OSU person. I would honestly feel bad about that. (not for you, but your mother. It has to be something that serious.) Get help. It is not worth going through life with so much venom.
No more from me. This is absurd. You are an idiot with some very serious mental issues. Look at your initial post. It was posted for no other reason than to cut JY down. Did he do something to your Mom? I doubt it.
People like you die very young due to stress and anxiety damage to your body. RIP. Well, not in peace. bye bye Zipper. stay in akron and enjoy.

No, Butchy Girl, I get the last word.

Now "go back to ohio" and wait for the 7 Peat.

7PEAT

Here are some interesting points on a 7 peat...

New York Yankee fans are delighted that Kentucky won its eighth NCAA men’s basketball championship Monday night, if only because the Yankees won the World Series in the previous seven years that the Wildcats won. There’s also good news in the SEC. In the last 50 years, when Kentucky won the Final Four -- 1978, 1996 and 1998 -- an SEC team also won the football national championship. As if the SEC needed another omen to win its seventh consecutive BCS title.

Florida got dumped on and ohio is picking up the rose scented poop.

From the Sporting News -

They’re giddy in Columbus, absolutely beside themselves that the man they call Urb has come home to save Ohio State.

Let me be brutally honest: Ohio State didn’t really want Urban Meyer as its next head coach. It wanted the thought of Urban Meyer.

Urban Meyer won two national titles at Florida, and he'll be expected to bring the same type of success to Ohio State. (AP Photo)
Because the Meyer they think they’re getting is long gone.

The Meyer they think they’re getting is the same man who was lying on his bedroom floor two years ago, the stress of coaching and recruiting and nonstop football crushing his chest and sucking the very life from his weak body.

The Meyer they’re getting is the man who called off a retirement, returned to the game, tanked a season and left the best job in America because he was burned out and needed to spend time with his family.

Then spent time doing his ESPN thing over the last year.

Let me be brutally honest, again: If Meyer truly needed to get away from football and “be with his family,” he would’ve walked away completely and definitively. Instead, he kept his toes in the pool by doing ESPN “work” of traveling to different programs and “interviewing” coaches—while learning from various staffs while the cameras were off.

If you don’t think Meyer was preparing for this very moment, you’re the same guy who thinks Ohio State has institutional control.

Now think again, Ohio State fans, about the Meyer hire.

Are you getting the game’s best coach; the guy who turned around Bowling Green, who led the first non-BCS team (Utah) to a BCS bowl, who won two national championships in six seasons at Florida? Or the guy who left Gainesville with serious health issues, then came back because he couldn’t leave the game, then got out of Dodge when it was obvious the greatest player in college football history wasn’t around anymore?

I’m just not buying the burned out excuse. When coaches are burned out, they leave the game for years—if not forever. They get away from it; they find something else to fill the void.

Meyer did none of that. He stayed as close to the game as he possibly could without actually calling plays and recruiting players. Until he signed his gig with ESPN, he still had an office at Florida and was “helping” (whatever that means) with the transition of new coach Will Muschamp.

Let’s not dance around this. Urban Meyer wasn’t burned out, and that leaves us with two undeniable facts: Meyer has health problems, and Meyer walked away from a program with every imaginable advantage of winning when the going got tough.

How else can we look at it?

That means Ohio State has thrown millions at a coach who could be forced to walk away at any moment because of health issues. And that the Buckeyes are regrouping after one of the greatest runs in school history by gambling on a man who may or may not be completely invested.

Meyer is an Ohio native, a former Buckeyes assistant and a man who reveres everything Woody and three yards and a cloud of dust. He’ll tell whoever wants to hear that this is his dream job; that he simply couldn’t walk away from the game.

Let me be brutally honest one last time: Meyer told a Miami radio station a few years ago that Notre Dame has always been his dream job. And he has walked away from the game twice.

This is the same coach who months before the 2011 season began was telling his former assistants that Penn State was the job he coveted—if JoePa were to leave. Once that job became radioactive, the backup plan fell into place.

Urban Meyer is a football coach, which means Urban Meyer has an ego. All coaches do. That’s why Meyer is coaching again.

Not dream jobs, not a native Ohioan returning home, not the draw of competing in the new Big Ten with its SEC-style championship game.

It’s pure ego.

Think again about the Meyer hire, Ohio State. The coach you think you’re getting is long gone.

Arkansas' program just took a step backward and it doesn't look like a team learning a new system starting in April will have a great shot at a National Title, despite the immense talent on the team. Petrino's firing probably helps Bama's, LSU's, Carolina's and Georgia's cause - especially the first three for they play Arkansas this year. Interesting times in the Natural State.
Question is: Is Petrino too much of a liability to be picked up by another Big Six team or will he fall into a lower tiered school? What an idiot.

Who said I am a Big 10 fan? I hate the Big 10. You seem to have a war going on with one poster. I am not a Big 10 fan at all. You are pathetic, and love posting to start arguments. Get a life. Your SEC is filled with cheaters. They will be caught sooner or later. What is little 10 when I have no affiliation with the Big 10.?? No SEC envy here. They are toothless billy goats. Lowest GPA's of any conf. in the nation.

So tell us who and what your conf has done on the field in recent history that would not get you laughed at? Just as I thought, SEC envy. Loser

PS I went to Miami and started for 3 yrs at LB. I stil lift 3 hrs. per night. Out the door at 6 am and lucky if home by 6 pm. I stayed with your loser company for a litttle over a yr and booked into medical. You name it. Lower GI scopes, cameras et al. 5 companies in 10 yrs. It is purely exceptable in our industry. We work hard and make good money. They don't care if we "job jump." You are stuck for life, if you survive the next layoff. ha ha.
I am on target to make around 280K this year. That is more than your RVP's make. I worked damned hard but it is worth it. I am a driver and achiever. I also work out 2 hours per night, 6 nights a week. (not tonight) Got 690 last week in the deadlift in a meet. I am sure you do not even know what that is. Let me simplify it for you. I am 6'2" 235 and could toss you through the window of the hotel bar. I have 10 % BF & you would kiss my ass at a meeting and tell me how much you love the MAC and Miami. I feel sorry for wimps like you who still drive company cars with no car allowance. Pathetic. All of my team drives German imports or very nice other cars and we get 750.00 per. We work hard and play hard. It is fun. It is like athletics. I JUMP out of bed every morning waiting for the next challenge. I don't hide my car in my garage, and beg my kids not to answer the phone while I stay at home. How pathetic. I know that hits you hard punk. My manager said he would never higher a drug rep period. Why me? Well, I only did it for a little over a year and my buddy worked for the company. Now, I know what sales is all about. It is a blast! We golf with docs, have great dinners with them and their wives, etc. It is real sales my little buddy. If I don't hit 300K in 2 yrs, gonesville. Going to Xray. Targets there are 400K. I will not be denied. It must be so sad to have no goals and hide at home in fear everyday. Time for some seriousl sleep and some protein before I hit it. Gym tomorrow for 3 hours. All chest. 3 hours. Can't wait. My girlfriend hates it, but she still shaves my chest for me!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. You better get a life. It is too late if you have been a rep for over a year.[/QUOTE

Butch is at his late nite antics slobering another one of his pointless drunken spit filled essays on here. Nobody cares about your delusional attempts to spin this thread. You can`t change the truth. 6-7 should be branded across your forehead.

Your SEC envy is very transparent. 7 peat
