What else would you expect from on line courses? Just pay your fee and you are certified. Unfortunately for techs, salairies are coming down to be more in line with the national average and starting salaries are extremely low.
Clinical Techs here are extremely overpaid for the education 90% of them have.
CLO initials are LCD. Is that a big enough hint?Who is CLO? Give a hint plz.
Because of this, many techs nationwide have pursued entirely different career paths.
It has been a concentrated effort throughout the industry to scale down pay rates of techs in all labs across the nation.
Think techs are over paid, imagine how much we are over paying the non-qualified, ineffective shadow of the CLO
The industry and healthcare in general are seemingly wanting techs to be looked upon as near entry level positions, regardless of their so called purchasable certifications. The certifying agencies are getting the last laugh.
Techs here are very soon going to see their scale cut back gradually, periodic and ongoing to be more in line with the ever growing number of competitors. Techs arcross the nation are feeling the squeeze. All labs are going through cutbacks. CEO's and CFO's are now looking at techs as bottom of the barrel, easily replacable non asset employees.
Many med techs want to be treated as one of those nameless workerbees in the background. They don't want to be treated as professionals becuase they can't handle the information. I just dislike med techs a hair less than Bostwick Lab.
Amen. You nailed that one.
You ungrateful people have no clue how much shadow does around here!
Yes, you did nail that. That's why their pay has and will be cut drastically. The certifications that anyone can purchase on line with an online study test is no longer the feather in ones cap that techs thought they were!
Nailed that one too!
CLO and Shadow sure can nail their version of the facts.

That is why many former and current techs here and other labs are getting out the industry altogether. Techs will be looked at dispensable, part time, revolving door employees in an attempt to make the business entity more profitable.
