Just curious.... wow common is this? (I work in a pharmacy)
Office is going no reps or samples in 01/2016.
My DM got caught looking through cabinets near the sample closet. The doc came out of an exam room and he was looking in a cupboard. He got the boot and I can only go to the window. Office is going no reps or samples in 01/2016. I encouraged the office manager to make a formal complaint but she fears for my job. I told her to do it for the principle of the issue.
They are turning the MSLs into glorified sales reps. MSLs are getting Challenger training next week.
You are a water putzI think MSL's should have a clinical background and be able to sell! Get a MSL who just knows the science, but lacks selling skills = not a great MSL. They are not aggressive enough on ensuring appointments or walking into offices without an appointment like reps do. If you're selling a highly clinical drug you want an MSL who knows how to be a sales rep too - not just an experienced retail pharmacist with no background in selling. MSL's are "technically" not supposed to sell, but the truth is the company needs them to sell too. Oncology for sure would need a MSL who can do both well... Most oncologists will only see MSL's and the staff will see the reps.
No...in Texas with a DM that doesn't know his head from his ass. Our RM plays him like a fiddle and has him do all the grunt work that she doesn't want to do. All his reps are tenured and miserable! All of sudden, reps who have won multiple All-Stars don't know how to sell. Everybody gets a bad field travel write up in ACoach. When will the RM wake up and realize that she hired a boss a year ago and not a leader??
I believe I know who you are talking about because he is my dm too. No...this guy doesn't know what he's doing. We are all miserable and our rm (Honk) has no idea.
Listen up reps! MSLs are NOT paid to sell. Selling is the reps job! We are responsible for scientific exchanges ONLY!! MSL HCVI think MSL's should have a clinical background and be able to sell! It is against company policy for MSLs to sell! We report to R&D and not the dumbos, Lutz and Lou! So Piss Off!Yes, reps job to sell, but I know HCV MSL's that do not know how to hustle for even an appointment! They rely on email and phone to secure an appointment - if you're not getting a response - get out there and hit the pavement and make some calls on your targets - total office call and GET an appointment that way too. At the end of the day EVERYONE is responsible for selling to get more interest in use in prescribing this underdog. No sales? No reps or MSL's will have jobs. Your official title may say you don't sell, but I guarantee you Gileads MSL's do both sell and science and that's one of many reasons why they're kicking our ass - their MSL's and reps BOTH sell all day everyday!
Ahh, that cute! you two super sleuths on a Marvel team up! Hey, cut the bullshit and have the conversation with the RM.
