So, back at the first of the year ( before COVID) the severance package was reduced. Didn't anyone take that as a hint of RIF to come in 2020?

No it wasn't. I have read the severance package over and over.

Pharma has been looking for the knock-out punch for so many reps, and Covid has provided that haymaker.
Pharma reps will see a 40-50% reduction across the board. Companies are just waiting to see who will be the first to pull the trigger.

Novo will hear details of their realignment this week and September/October will be off to the races for other companies making their decisions.

BI had their lay-off today,
