Cell Phone Reimbursement

Sales up, profits up, more Middle Management than any company should have, electric cars, and yet Sales Representatives are no longer allowed the $75/month for cell phone reimbursement? Great for morale! Please, anybody from the company that wants to contact me - email only!!
 




Hmmm.. you make well over 100k a year. Close to 200k when you throw in benefits. Every cell plan in America is unlimited and no one has a home line anymore. Why should Novartis foot your cell phone bill that is 99% personal use? Same with your home internet.

If Novartis pays your cell phone bill they should have a right to see the bill. How many minutes you are on it during business time- when you should be in offices. They should have a right to know where the calls were made from so they have the option of comparing that to where you put calls in for the day. Pay your own cell phone bill you don't need a pharma company like Novartis to pay for it for you.

I don’t work here but Let me give you 4 good reasons why companies should pay for the cell phone cost.

1. you’re a serious douche bag
2. Apparently your sorry ass spends way too much time on your phone and not enough time working.
3. It’s the right thing to do when you basically are forcing people to use their “private” phone for business purposes. Most people don’t want their main point of contact with friends and family mixed with work.
4. In certain states the law agrees with them. Why is a billion dollar company so cheap that they expect their employees to use their personal phone to transact business. It’s backwards. No sympathy for these rich companies who try and milk 100 bucks a month out of their employees. And furthermore who are you that you care that strongly about it? I can only imagine what type of brown-noser you are.

You don't work here? You sure have some strong opinions on cell phone reimbursement. Novartis should offer a cell phone to each employee and that way the manager would have access to the bill and know where and when cell phone calls with it are being made. The rule could easily be that it has to be on during work hours which allows GPS tracking in real time.

Or just eat the $100 its really not that big of a deal.
 












Really unfortunate Novartis would choose to do this. Maybe internet. They do provide iPads where we can access the internet anytime. But cell phone reimbursement, no way. They should then provide us with a business phone. Too much communication with providers offices via phone and text. Hope my manager doesn’t expect me to communicate with them. Yes, I have unlimited data/phone but WTH.
Total BS. Still no communication on this in my region.

Just an FYI. According to the policy you can actually expense internet. That is the difference between the bottom tier speed and whatever plan you are on. For example. The bottom plan for us is $50. I actually pay $150. I can expense the upgrade monthly. $100. That’s better than the $75 I was receiving for the cell phone reimbursement. It’s in the policy.

If you work In CRM your cell phone stays busy during the day for work. Between texts and calls it’s used frequently. I would say my phone is 50% business. Not sure you would be doing your job at all if it was 99% personal. That sounds like someone who doesn’t work in Pharma.
