Good questions. Best way to get development is to leave the company and gain experience in a TA they want to hire externals for. Next, re-apply to AZ for specific TA (Oncology and/or biologics). If hired, that is AZ's definition of career development.

Now if you a diversity definition, then you can stay at AZ and develop from within rather easily.

The fact is that neither of these exit at AZ. Firing people or putting people on PIPs is rewarded over developing people. And to have a career you have to work for a viable company which AZ is not.

The only career development is for ass kissers and yes men and women. If you are a women and half good looking you have an advantage. Be big into diversity because that's always a plus. Make sure you join all the diversity groups even if you aren't one of the group. That's it. Other than that, leave this hell hole and get a real job!

I'll say this. At least AZ realizes it doesn't have the capacity to develop others and recommends going elsewhere, to a company with a real career development program. This pace is a black hole for any career.
