Can Someone Say "National Sales Meeting Cancelled"

Home Office Mole here. The above post is a perfect example of why we shouldn't trust anyone. This was decided several weeks ago when it became apparent Contrave would not be approved. Unfortunately, it was not to be announced until mid-March, but you know what they say, "Loose lips sink ships".

Meetings will be local splinter types with 3-4 districts at one location. Remember what happened last time NSM was cancelled? Layoffs followed. Brace yourself. The current footprint by ZS was pending ARB and Contrave approval. Of course, worst case scenarios were also computed. Now if Contrave is lucky, it will likely be third to market.

Simply put, current structure cannot be supported for another two years. Such a shame.

Severance agreement from last layoffs specifically stated that the same agreement would be in effect for any layoffs between that time through 3/15/2011 so...Beware the Ides of March!

Fascinating. Way for ZS to think ahead when restructure was announced on May 12th and the contract with Orexigen for Contrave was signed on September 2nd.

After the layoffs 3 or 4 districts at a splinter or poa meeting will be like a regional meeting. How many people will be cut -500, 750, 1000? Anything over 1000 and one would have to think Japan would be considering selling U.S. Operations. Sad!!!!!!

I call bullshit on this post. I heard it is going to be pushed back about 3 weeks to a month and a big announcement will be made. We will still have a national meeting you dolt. It will just be delayed a little bit.

There's kool-aid and then there's the stuff you're drinking...which I don't have a name for. You're as dumb as Doug "Me"ley. Do you wear fake reading glasses too in order to look intelligent like Doug "Me"ley?

The last time a national sales meeting was pushed back a month it was announced that we would be merging and a few months later we all had to sit by the telephone and wait to hear if we still had jobs. Is that the big announcement you are refering to?

Why is it Doug's fault that Takeda Legacy Leaders didn't create an executable long term strategy?

Yeah because all the great, inspired leadership from TAP who are running this shithole now brought long term vision and execution to TPNA right?

Seriously. Go to to meeting in the home office now. With the exception of Chris Fox and Dan Orlando, are there any TPNA leadership people left in top positions?

Senior VP of Sales, Doug Cole, TAP.
VP of Sales, John Campbell, TAP.
VP Managed Markets (doing a great job BTW), Robin Powers, TAP.
Senior VP of Marketing, Tim Rudolphi, TAP.
VP Contracts and Pricing (Another AMAZING fucking performance), Jim Patnoe, TAP.

Look at all the director level spots. Virtually all TAP alumni. With all these intellectual giants from the almighty TAP we should have broken the alchemists code and started spinning our own gold by now.

Takeda was an awesome company. It only took TAP 2 years to turn it to shit.

Thanks for the organizational chart. None of these people are responsible for Alogliptin , Contrave, or Amitiza challenges. They inherited a mess

Really? Cole wasn't senior VP when alogliptin died? Rudolphi wasn't VP of sales? Who was steering the ship when the Contrave contract was first signed and Contrave died? Face it, our "leaders" have yet to succeed with anything since the merger.

They did succeed in laying off over 1000 people in field sales though. Oh yeah, they also successfully saved their own asses and the jobs of their closest friends.
