BSX to Aquire AMS

Still pretty quiet out there but could this be a good thing for all of us?

What about Womens team? Good news?

It means the end. No more AMS name, no ties to our MPH and BPH counterparts, who will soon be selling against us. We'll be sold off to the highest bidder. Camille says we'll be the cornerstone of whatever organization ends up buying us but that makes us nothing more than a high priced Caldera.

Any chance that Camille goes with womens team? I dont think he needs to go to BSX as he makes ~4-5 million in he BSX deal.

Was the AMS name sold as a part of the package?

Its over AMSers. Its Boston Scientific now. Your culture, your legacy, is gone. Its just business so dont take it personally but we do it better and we bought you. Dont forget this. There is no honeymoon, produce or be fired.

Your leaders are failures. There is no home for any of them. They might try to sell you a story about coming on board. Forget it. I hear the mens implant team is talented which is great because you will be rewarded.

Congrats to Rajiv for successfully dumping AMS. The implantable devices are inline with BSX's core business but the Laserscope division doesn't really fit in with the implantable device category. What's happening with Laserscope? If they're not sold to someone soon they will probably be shut down and written off as a loss.

That's pretty much what the MPH team heard - that Boston will take our products but not all of us. The retention plan is word-smithing for "severance". We keep selling, staying on board until the deal closes, keeping up the pretense of AMS while our new company works to learn our products and our customers so they can let us go. I'm thinking the Women's side is better off.

Currently Boston have bought whatever "vision" the Endo team in collaboration with the AMS leadership created for them. Sure, there will have been financial due diligence and independent research into market position and potential but now they will do the deep-dive. A thorough review of the human assets of the company and decisions about business needs and cultural fit. Both are important. In my experience good people with roles that are needed who can adjust to the new culture will be kept. Others, let go.

If I was a Boston executive, reading this board on cafepharma, I might possibly jump to the conclusion that AMS is packed with puerile, unmanageables without the "winning spirit" that Boston tries to nurture and as a result, make the decision to rif you all.
