I actually laughed when I read this. You obviously can't work for st junk or mdt. Those 2 companies lead the world in pt deaths. BSC isn't even close. He wasn't chucking at pt deaths you idiot. He was chucking at you. St junk tried to hide countless Riata deaths. That's what you call "chuckling at pt deaths" you db. And mdt, well for them it's "just part of the business". Those 2 companies are currently in a contest for the most deadly and devastating recall in industry history with fidelis holding a slight and temporary edge over Riata/Durata. Were you able to follow all that?
Ok, then what leads and device would you what your family member to have? Also not all implanters are equal, so choose the best doc and hospital that offers excatly what you need. Please resond back.
Guess what I have several close friends with gdt/BSC Devices and they are all doing great with no issues. One if my best friends mother requested a gdt crtd in 2006. She woke up with a mdt system complete w a fidelis. 2 years later she was in er with 30+ shocks. Needless to say she was PISSED. the family considered suing but didn't. Had she received what she requested she'd have avoided the situation. True story.
Sorry to hear that as we all have similar stories regardless of what company. I guess the differences need to be made clear in the failures and the way they present themselves, ie.
-Fidelis delivers inappropriate shocks which usually don't result in death. Fidelis sets off alerts usually before the shocks occur. MDT pays for pt expenses associated with Fidelis lead replacement.
- Riata/Durata FAILS to deliver life saving Rx WITHOUT any alerts and demonstrates normal measurements eventhough the next shock will NOT be delivered. DFT testing is NOT a reasonable assumption that the lead does not have a problem. Externalized cables are NOT cosmetic and should not be ignored even if measurements appear to be normal. Oh Yeah...if your Riata/Durata fails the only way STJ will pay to replace the failed lead is if you replace it with another Durata....sounds logical! MDT recalled their lead and STJ continues to deny any issues.
-BSX Gore is a joke. Integrated bi-polar is old technology resulting in inappropriate shocks. These leads are well known to fracture and demonstrate similar behavior to Riata in terms of not delivering RX when needed.
Everyone has issues, Implanters abilities and education of pt's is the key.

And the old standby "integrated bipolar sucks" talk track. There are 100 t wave oversensing issues to every 1 oversensing issue w BSC leads. Your company uses inferior bp filters and old sensing technology. That's why you ha w so many issues. You simply don't understand the issues. Sorry.

I love the TWOS claim and that's a simple answer. The 100 to 1 claim is that MTD puts in a 100 ICD's to every 1 BSX ICD. The TWOS counter/sensing works great on MDT devices...no issues and it's great when this feature shows up during clinic when you can show the customer that inappropriate shocks were avoided through this technology and 9 out of 10 times the customer will respond, " Do you know how many inappropriate BSX shocks I see due to oversensing?" And I'll say, "A lot?" and they'll say, "I see 100 BSX inappropriate shocks to every 1 MDT inappropriate shock."
I guess it's all about who you ask. The problem you have is that your ms continues to erode because you spend too much time thinking about this kind of crap instead of selling.
Why are you on here defending the BSX DF4 lead when you should be focused on selling your "Crowned Jewel" subQ? Just whip that out of your bag, with the help of a crane, and flop it on the table. Problem solved.
Can't sell the subQ at the moment because we can't meet demand. Selling them about 2x-3x faster than anticipated and manufacturing can't keep up with demand. Good problems to have I guess.
