BMS to sell off Diabetes Unit?

If they are killing Diabetes R&D and articulating an Immuno/ Onco focus as well as indicating to the street they would sell their stake to AZ. What more do you need? Are you hitting the numbers this year? You need a plan!

Don`t be so naive. Everything you say is exactly what Nss said last year with abilify. Mgmt even said on stage at national meeting that sales growth was strong and no cuts would even be looked at for at least 18 months. 6 months later, 700 people and an entire profitable division were gone. Everything here at bms is fools gold and they will sell their souls for the right price.

News flash dumb ass we didn't own ability! That's why you we're let go. Nothing more nothing less.

Okay dumb ass!!! Here you go-
Neuroscience Division - Abilify
Mead Johnson - 2009, women having babies everyday all day and providing nutritional supplements to their babies.
Zimmer - 2001, orthopaedics

Got it dumb ass!!!! Don't write unless you know what you're talking about.

I don't write unless I know fuck face and here is my proof to make you look like the dumb ass you really are!
First: neuroscience we didn't own abilify dumb ass!! We didn't sell it off we gave it back. Do you feel stupid yet? Ok let me go on!
Second: we didn't sell off Mead Johnson you dumb fuck we spilt off. Their profit is still our profit. You feel like a dumb as yet?
The only thing you got was the Zimmer thing and honestly I don't what the fuck that is! Bottom you are a dumb fuck and deserved whatever happens to you!
That is all!!

Yikes!! You're writing reflects a lot of anger, hopefully you're able to communicate without having to use foul language . . . seems like the OP was making a point in that BMS has sold off divisions and a contract ended, so anything is possible in sales.

You might wanna check out the BMS website site and look at the pipeline. Not promising for diabetes. Get your resume ready cause the diabetes division won't be as hearty as it is today.

Talks about yesterday's announcement that they are dropping diabetes R&D, and the poor performance of Bydureon. Says AZ might be a logical buyer of the franchise.

Look at BMS and AZ pipeline, neither have invested in diabetes research. We're promoting me too drugs and with the affordable care act's emphasis on generics, the only way pharma can be profitable is to have a unique drug. There doesn't need to be variety of like meds.

Very common with contract reps.

I agree this might happen but you people keep comparing this to neuroscience and abilify! It's hands down without a doubt not the same. Do you not think BMS wouldn't have kept selling abilify if they could have? The 50/50 agreement was up that's all. Again this might happen and it won't until the decision on Dec 12 with the advisory board. Nothing will happen until dapa does or doesn't get approved or the FDA grants us the use of the pen.

Money Talks: There are a lot of similarities to Abilify. The Abilify agreement had not expired and had two more years on it when Otsuka made an offer to buy marketing rights. BMS still receives a portion of Abilify sales they just no longer market it.

Companies do this when a sales force's products do not align with their long term goals. This is not to say that BMS is going to sell off diabetes. If they did it would negativly impact their stature in the Pharma world. Money Talks however and selling marketing rights would bring a huge influx of cash.

well said amigo and with some actual knowledge behing the post. bms parted with abilify cuz the cold hard cash that otsuka was willing to pay them. not sure of az bank account but rest assured if they flash dinero that bms likes, diabetes will be spun off.
