Fierce competition in NY from a sharp and good rep.
If you have education you will miss the hot jobs to double masters degree MBA reps who are VP repeats. That is what's it's all about in NY. They like them young there too. Better be under 40, oldest 45 unless you are a direct referral from a manager high up on the inside. Tough market for the strong older reps who need work.
No doubt the best sales professionals are in NYC. They are polished, smart, and work hard. However, there are TONS of jobs in that area. No excuses to not have something decent, if you have the education and are willing to take risks and not afraid of "life".
Bottom Line... P***y they want to get with and buddies. That is what's getting hired. This excludes many. Just look at who gets hired. It's shocking in some cases. They're not all that. They just happen to impress or know the hiring manager.
I laugh to keep from crying as a response regarding how true this is...The way not to get blacklisted is to stay till the bitter end and get tossed out by the company. If you choose to take the reigns of your own life and find a better paying and more secure job you are trash.....
Your reliance on scraps from unemployment and sticker shock with the bills and unaffordable healthcare are just other tests of employee dedication!!!
Life is sweet when publi picks you up, dusts you off and offers you another shaky low paying job. Feel the love!

Despite the average salary, its a great company if you can stomach the unprofessional training.
Not me. No more. Spent a few years at PSS, and I will never go back. The better bet is to take all the unemployment until you find a better job rather than jump back in and get abused in the training.
if you can't land a good gig, then go back to PSS, but I would only do it if you have a background in the therapeutic area you will be selling in. They will make your life terrible for at least 2-3 weeks during their abusive training set up.
Did they make you cry during training? You are so sad and need a hug. LOL

Good test takers and good sales people?
Ok Pss. Well done.
Besides, it makes me feel good to tell the truth to thwart liars like you. Training is absolutely unprofessional and I dare anyone to tell me otherwise.
LOL, a bunch of "Bro's" with bad tans, greasy hair, a suit they had to max out a credit card to pay for, oh and a nice coke habit just for kicks, yes, very polished.
The thing that makes NYC what it is is all of the people NOT from NYC who go there to work. The locals are mainly a cross between Artie Lang and the casting rejects from the Jersey Shore
that's why they call them grease balls..never trust someone who's name ends in a vowel
Wow, that is quite a wide range! Any other great pieces of advice you can give? I just wrote down the "vowel" suggestion and taped it to my fridge.
