A few things stand out:

1. You lost business because of this.

2. It's probably pretty easy to identify you from your tone of speech. Most people write like they talk. So I would guess that anyone who knows you from your territory has probably figured it out already.

3. Exactly how do you know this physician will never "get a board position" - unless you have inside information from the CEO - which further narrows down who you are.

4. You state in sentence "Everyone knows this happens every where (sic)."

In the next paragraph you state,

"Only BIO would be this desperate, predictable and obvious. That's what really chaps you....BIO can't gain business without engaging in some sort of unethical lure.....you guys stick out in the industry and always have for this kind of crap......hell, you guys hired Rory C knowing his background and after he was fired from MDT for the very reasons BIO felt he was worth hiring. Rory will cross any line at any time....a prerequisite to become a BIO rep!"

5. So which is it - does it happen everywhere, or is BIO desperate, predictable, and obvious?

6. A follow up question to question 5, you're obviously from Florida. So if BIO is awful for hiring Rory, what does that say about the BSC manager who hired the cousin of the EP in Tampa? What does that say about the MDT & STJ managers that hired the girlfriend of the EP in Miami (Miami Herald article from a few years ago). Does that mean that BIO operates in the same manner as BSC, MDT, and STJ? Or is BIO worse?

I would continue to de-construct your argument; however, it's pointless. It is apparent that you're bitter you've lost business. What's funny is that when I lost business to an MDT rep who started dating my married customer (and who later left his wife to marry the MDT rep), I don't recall posting in anger on CafePharma. I recall going to his referring physicians I was friends with and getting them to shift their referring patterns. I also recall my business not taking much of a dump.

Maybe I should have posted on CafePharma about how unethical MDT was for doing this. Maybe that would have had more of an impact on my business.

The wife of this cheating physician is suffering so show some damn respect. So it took until you learned your physician was doing the rep BEFORE you got off your ass and went to your referring physicians.....wow you seem highly motivated....that's what it takes to get you to work? What did you tell your referring friends???? Let me guess..the very same thing you are challenging here on CP..... stop talking out of both sides of your mouth.

This would have stayed private if it weren't for the wife of one of my husbands fellow physicians who we socialize with and have been friends for years. This is a tight community and though all spouses are at risk, this behavior it stands out when a company, apparently desperate for business, pulls this stuff.

Based on your sarcastic and insensitive comment, I gather you endorse this behavior, regardless who is at fault as long as you profit.

This business practice by BIO is responsible for atleast 2% of their 5% MS so it makes perfect sense for you to come on here and defend your immoral beliefs.

Lady, nobody condones the crap you speak of. In my area, an EP just married a rep from one of the big 3. another EP has a brother that works for the big 3. another EP has a brother that works for one of the small 2.

you're right, it is incestuous to some degree. but, it's not limited to Bio. i remember back n the day when a brilliant EP in southern cal was hooking up with an executive with Guidant while at the same time a St Jude rep was hooking up with a hotty who he eventually married and then divorced because he was steppin out with a local nurse. go figure eh.

interventional cards are continually caught in back rooms with cath lab nurses or pharma reps jumping each other's bones during work hours.

You can tell BIO reps are well versed at this form of business...look... they even write letters on behalf of their physicians. These suck holes perfected the business of Prostitution in the device industry and they are offended when they are called out. Bravo!
