My soon to be ex-husband, implanting physician, who, after a massive weight loss operation feels he must prove he's back in the game. Now dating a new BIO rep where they are not even on contract, has decided to take a trip to Germany with her and become a speaker for BIO. For years he talked poorly about BIO and how dirty their tactics are and now he has decided to join the dirt. I guess BIO management figured they had to throw a female at him to get the business.
Funny how a company that advocates saving lives with their devices ruins marriages along the way to profits. Sex sells, not devices... and that's the BIO motto. Well little girl, make sure he shows you the "before" and "after" pictures and burn that image in your head. Anyway, my attorney will be serving papers soon and my PI has some pictures that are priceless.
You know, you're right. This would never happen at Medtronic, St Jude, or Boston. Never. Those companies are way too ethical to hire reps that would do something like this. In all my years in medical devices, I've never seen a company hire the spouse, girlfriend, child, or relative of a physician - except of course for Biotronik.
They are clearly the most unethical company in the industry - I mean, just look at the amount of fines they've paid to the DOJ over the past 30 years for illegal marketing. Compared to Medtronic, St Jude, and Boston Scientific, it's ridiculous.
Also, look at the number of misdemeanors Biotronik has pled guilty to compared to the competition - it's ridiculous.
Finally, look at all the news articles about Biotronik's devices that have failed and led to patient deaths compared to the competition. It's crazy.
With all this information out there, no one can say Biotronik isn't unethical.
I'm sorry your husband is leaving you - but if you're using CafePharma to vent - you're probably in the wrong spot. More likely, you're a troll complaining about how a Bio rep is kicking your ass - not because you're not a good rep. I mean come on, you've probably won multiple awards from your district / regional manager for presentation skills, analytical skills, etc. You're a superstar - just ask yourself. You can see absolutely no reason why another rep could be better than you.
Face facts - you're mediocre. You've always been mediocre. You will always be mediocre. Average is okay. Medtronic and Boston thrive on hiring average reps - that way they can pay them $150k and the reps are ecstatic (well, ecstatic enough to take their spouses / girlfriends out and expense the dinner - but of course we know that a doctor was there). My advice to you is to find a product that has no competition. Go to Edwards and sell perc valves - you'll be a superstar again. Leave right before Medtronic comes out with their valve and you'll be able to tell the next company what a rock star you are.
Otherwise, shut the fuck up and beg for your corporate account manager to bail you out by dropping pricing to the floor to get a market share agreement. Then come back on the board and tell everyone your success story.
