Do your research - the whole industry is downsizing mainly because of the 2.3% excise tax in the healthcare bill. If your company sells $40 billion a year in product multiply that by 2.3% and BINGO you now know how many $$$ your company has to pay Uncle Sam. This additional tax goes into effect in 2013.
 
























It has happened. 15% of sales force was rif'd yesterday. More to be eliminated in the next 2 weeks in the form of reps and managers having to interview for their positions. Total of 22% reduction stated until next round. 35% when all done by mid 2013.

You chose the wrong career path. Should have went with R&D, we don't need to produce any results, get to spend all we want (looks good on the books for Wall Street and keeps the BS Innovative line alive). We can tell management any excuse we want because they can't figure it out or use the bare minimum scapegoatage and then blame everything on the one person and typically that person doesn't even lose their job they just get reassigned.
"We are Covidien" could have covered the entire workforce reduction with the powered stapling project alone x2.

you guys need to take more drugs and produce something creative - There isnt the slightest need or demand in the market for anything powered. You may as well put out a stapler that shits ice cream
