Best/worst memory from Forest/Actavis/Durata/Allergan

Former 25+ year "Enduranced" Allergan employee.
Best: Free Christmas trees
Children's Christmas Party
John Gibson playing with his band on the "golf" course on a warm afternoon
Parties thrown in celebration of "whatever" goals accomplished , summer festival, etc.
Milestone parties for long term employees
Gavin Herbert and David Pyott holding a "fireside" informal chat about themselves in the auditorium.

Layoffs: the good and the bad and the ugly
good: mid 1980's. Manufacturing was told they were relocating to Waco Texas and employees could move it or lose it. Manufacturing replied that they quit - immediately, and to go stuff it. Ooops. Enhanced severance packages were quickly arranged.

Bad: Layoffs with no notice whatsoever, laid off told to leave the campus immediately and escorted off premises by guards. Ex employees allowed back several days later, under guard, all computers confiscated during layoff notice. I lost several friends and coworkers to this method.

Being Enduranced with an enhanced package was not all that bad, but what do I know; first time ever laid off.

The ugly: The next wave of layoffs in January after being acquired, after months and months of stress for the remaining employees was ugly and painful. I don't think the stain of multiple consecutive mass layoffs will ever go away. It's now always on everybody's minds, all the time no matter what management says.

Worst: What poster # 18 said. The day Valeant announced takeover plans. Scum, pure scum. Nothing was the same after that and from what I hear, the Allergan we old timers knew, started by a pharmacist with a dream and a community spirit is long gone.

Just read this. And agreed. I was a long-time legacy Allergan employee. While we worked hard and certainly faced weekly challenges, it was a joy to be an Allergan employee. We held ourselves to a high standard. Self starters thrived. We colored outside the lines and built markets. We did important work. We all knew why we came to work each day and we were committed, as a team, to succeed. And we succeeded amazingly.

I am proud to have been associated with legacy Allergan and to have worked with such fine and dedicated people.

I can only hope that this new Allergan finds its culture eventually.

Legacy Watson/Actavis. That first meeting in PHX after the Forest integration. It was like a bunch of strangers moved into our house uninvited and took over. It began with JL insulting everyone of his coworkers from stage. Than CR strutting on stage like he was Gods gift to sales, then proceeds to insult and offend the entire sales force with his narcissism, agism and misogyny. But the icing on the cake was when CR tried to call the sales force back together after the final General session as people were leaving to deride and berate us again. Fortunately for me I got out early to the break out session with a couple of people from my District and we just marveled about where this place was headed. They are all gone and now that I collected my 'Being Bold' retention bonus will soon follow!!
I agree. That inForestation meeting was the nadir of my career (that means "low point" for you CR acolytes ( that means " religious followers" for you CR fucksticks)). What madness! The best experience was attending a POA then getting laid off the following week!
