Best rep at BMS

why is it that every BMS thread has a racial comment or remark? Does BMS employ only racist's? It is a sad commentary of the company. It is not about race but the person please stop being so full of hate.
 








best rep at bms DOING WHAT??? best at scamming the system?? thinking that they are the best rep in the world, when all they do is the same stuff as the UPS drivers, deliver products and boxes and sometimes food. OH yeah, and occasionally leave an info card with the product name at the front desk with the secretary hoping that it gets to the doctor. this industry stinks and all reps are overpaid and underworked.
 








is that the best or is that territory gonna do well whoever is in there. there are many things in pharma that the reps cant and DONT control, such as coverage, goals, etc. it is all luck. certain territories can have a robot in them and it will do well. blah blah blah
 
















Lets all be honest here- without our CSO's out there working incredibly hard, we would all be cloaked in failure.

My CSO partner is out selling every morning before I get out of bed. He books all of the lunches in the tough offices and is responsible for 90% of the Kombi/Onglyza sales in my territory. We are going to win $5K in contest money and I didn't do anything to earn it.

When I win Pinnacle again this year- I'm going to have to take him as my guest. I feel bad that his name doesn't even get mentioned when the awards are announced. I feel bad that I will go on another amazing trip and he'll be out selling (as usual) while I'm lying on a beach.

I know I got lucky with my CSO partner because he is a hard worker and takes this job more seriously than I do. As for who is the best? They don't even work for us.
 












Former BMS rep here. I had the pleasure of being in the same district with John Mattie for a number of years. Without a doubt, he is the best rep I have ever met from any company. I once heard a DM describe him as "the hardest working person I have ever known." Never worked directly with Steve Long, but was very aware of his reputation and it's hard to argue with success. Met him on a Pinnacle trip and he was very pleasant to be around. I remember him getting up at a NSM (I think it was the Serzone launch) and giving a presentation before the entire company. Both men are pretty impressive.

These guys put BMS on the map in the upper midwest before most of you were even born. They have since left BMS but I worked along side of both them, and they didn't sugar coat it. They were honest, frank, competitive, clinical and respected. If you backdoored Charlie, you would only do that once in your life. They had more than their share of "awards". But what they are most proud of wasn't the awards, the trips, nor the cash. It was about respect, and integrity. They were proud that they were always available to help other reps, honest with their patients, their nurses, and their doctors. They were role models even to their competitors, in their work and in their home life. There were many a day that these two sucked up the courage and said no to a bad decision by a manager, regional or even V.P. That is why still today, most of us can still walk in their offices and the physician will hand us a cup of coffee. For those that don't recognize it, it is called integrity. And there isn't an award for it!

Pinnacle is only one measure (everybody in Texas the Pinnacle Machine, think they are the best lol)

are you SLS?
do you help others?
Training?
Consult to senior Management?
I know the rep our VPs consider the standard of excellence and it is not Praha, albeit he may be a terrific salesman, this is only one facet of the job.
