Base salary % increase at Year End Review



















In a town hall last week our VP told us the Corporate merit budget was 2.0% for 2011. That's down from the last couple of years where it had been 3% +/-.

According to the Wall Street Journal US companies will increase 2011 salaries by a median of 2.8%, up from 2.4% in 2010. That should give you an idea of how things are going with "New Merck".

Oh hell!! I'm glad just to have paycheck and to be working at least one more year until lay offs strike again. It's inevitable that it will happen with Singulair going off patten in 2012. Just make sure you shine on your competencies and kiss your mgr.'s ass. He/she holds the keys to your future at Merck. Everything will be alright.
 












Reps will each get an average of a 1% merit increase and top executives will each get at least 1 million dollars' worth of stock options. Definite disparity considering the top executives did more to destroy this company than the reps.

I'm not a fan of competencies, and I don't kiss anyone's ass. So, looks like severance for me...which is just fine.
