AZ was always Good to Me.

Back in my AZ selling days, we never stooped to be sandwich delivery boys! We were called detail men and actually had product discussions with our docs. It was an admired PROFESSION.

I started at Stuart Pharmaceuticals for the Tenormin (atenolol) launch. My manager was an absolutely pleasure ! No cell phones. No sample signatures. No computers. No lunch budgets. Minimum, very minimum field rides. I would actually call my DM inviting him to come down for a day. The RSD was a super guy as well. Meetings were great! Product discussions were in the doctor’s office and not a hallway. Many times the doc would have the nurse bring me a cup of coffee! We did resident lunches and night outs! if I saw a provider at a restaurant, my policy was to pay the bill for their ENTIRE FAMILY, NO QUESTIONS ASKED! We gave out sporting event tickets all the time too. I would also go to my local hospital‘s medical library and scan their primary journal for articles I thought they would like to read and makes copies of the article for key docs. I did journal club meetings for different specialties where they presented articles of interest to the group. This is just a small listing of what life was life was like for a drug rep.
