AZ Diabetes Contact call (ds4 & summit)

CSA contract already ended, in May.

The CSA's that have Nexium and Crestor are still here. AZ is cutting PC, and they are also cutting CSO. They already cut GE sales team and other CSA team that had diabetes. I understand that CSA's are cheap, but for generic or about to be generic drugs? Doesn't make sense to cut all the sales people on D4 and Summit and keep the people who get paid whether they sell or not.

For every AZ employees salary (base pay, car, benefits...) is equal to employing 2 contract reps. Their own sales for with their high salaries is killing them. Something to think about....

I am pretty close with my manager..we worked together at another company but she feels like the contract for DS4 is over ..

That's so great that you are so close with your manager. Also great that your manager does not have the character to differentiate friendship from their personal life. But again, thanks so much for sharing.

The layoffs will affect mostly the areas that have LARGE IDNs...Wisconsin, Michighan,Connecticut and California. Possibly Colorado...50 PSS reps will be displaced across the country. That includes DS4 and Summit. In our territory in the south, all diabetes sales people are safe, but they will lose one primary care rep.

Well, no one likes that fact they the company knows who is leaving but won't tell us until the end of the month. Do they really think this is a way to create loyalty? I'm guessing we'll have a one day notice...after busting my ass for this place for two years??? Wow!

What about the extension of Summit? When will Summit find out?

Not necessarily! They may need us now more than ever to try and hold some market share for onglyza. Onglyza will take a hit FOR SURE but delivering the right message with an understanding of both studies to give clarity might slow the burn. Check out fierce pharma news.

Check this out - To heartwire, Holman said that if physicians are looking at the data and wanting to choose an agent, the risk-averse doctor treating type 2 diabetic patients would presumably "vote with their feet" and select sitagliptin. What doc today isn't risk averse?
