AZ Crestor Target List = Joke. Your thoughts please

Am I the only one, or do these “Target List” for the AZ Crestor contract stink? It seems like we were given last years’ trash. I know we all want to do the very best we can, that said, these targets are what they are: 90% No Access and/or Limited Access. What is going to happen, something has to give? It feels like a dog chasing its' tail. Please, honest thoughts, help, tips, etc.
 






AZ rep here---you are obviously taking our positions---the last thing you should be doing is complaining,,,we are gearing up for a huge downsizing and the open slots are filled by you..
 






yes, the target list is challenging but with that being said lets just do what we are paid to do.
go to every single office, leave literature, talk to front office, get them to know you even if you can never ever get back. access is bad everywhere and the lists make it difficult to see multiple docs in same office. I do not believe anything will change untill next quarter. the az reps are facing layoffs and i am thankful to have this position as i was once in their shoes and it is a difficult thing to go through.
i will never ever complain about this industry again because i was laid off and i know how damn difficult it is to work in another field that is fifty times more demanding with even half the pay we are making. it is also difficult to even land a contract job as thre are so many laid off reps.
we can make this work. publicis will make the appropriate changes by next quarter. i really believe that.
 






Targets are not too hot, that much is true. Probably, AZ will give some new targets to each territory. As far as post #2, thousands and thousands of reps have been there. Hang tough, not all reps will be let go, if any at all. They could just be rumors, be positive and keep your chin held high!

I agree with you that we are in place to take over the promotion of Crestor. I have been down sized twice in the past five years and know what you are going through. It is a sign of problems with our industry and the lack of value that pharma companies have for their employees. The companies that I was let go from where not losing money or doing poorly, just the opposite. Instead of planning for the future with normal attrition, not continuing hiring new sales forces, pharma companies just keep on as business as usual. AZ knew that Liptor was going generic would impact Crestor greatly too. Just plain corporate greed with no regard for the employees. I wish you the best, we have all been there or will be soon!

All of us who were hired for this AZ/Crestor position have been downsized or laid off from our respective big pharma companies, We are all seasoned professionals with good track records, and that is why we were hired. Most of us are making half of what we were previously, but the industry is rapidly moving toward contract sales reps. Yeah, the lists are not accurate, and the pressure is on us to make 8 or more calls per day, but we are experienced pros and can deal with this. The first month is a fishing expedition to gather information and clean up these target lists. Our DMs and RMs all went through what we went through. Let's band together and work like the sales professionals we are and not speculate as to what may or may not happen. I am very glad to be here, and the glitches will work out. Amy B is a very strong sales leader. Do your best each day.

As I weed through my call list and territory though, I'm curious how many calls most reps are averaging right now? I don't feel the pressure yet for 8 calls/day with all the bad info and bad targets... But what are most people getting? I'm talking actual calls that you are recording... that would show up on a report?
 






I have an honest question. I sync every evening and in the morning as well. I've been in the field 3 weeks now and none of my signatures have shipped yet. All of them still say requested. Is anyone else having this problem?? Also, I still do not have any physician data. Not complaining here, just stating facts and looking to see if others are experiencing this.

When I sync, the samples show as being sent... might want to give a call... I too sync in the morning and in the evening. I do agree, I also have no physician data, so with the very limited access I do have with a very limited budget; well, all of you get the point. I am not complaining, I just think it would be very helpful when setting appointments with the few we can.
 






it's the old story that the contracted company has the right to block certain doctors from appearing on out target list. it's usually the top writers or the docs with easy access so the AZ reps. don't have to work hard themselves. It's a laziness clause. They want us to call on the hard access guys so they can coast on their sales.
 






It is clear from these posts that many of you have never been in contract and are overstating your position. It is a contract for share of voice. They are trying to get every last script they can out of Crestor before the marked erodes from generic Lipitor. No matter how good you do, you are not being "poised" to take over an AZ rep's job. It won't happen. Your training was weak with not a lot of studies, etc... your contract is one year and that is it. Also, you were given the lowest of the low doctors because again, they are trying to get everything they can from Crestor. No offense but you are nothing but sample sig getters for share of voice. Get over it, it is the life of a contract rep on a contract designed in this manner.
 






limited studies what more could you possibly have to know to sell in the pharma world? To make training easier, they should provide a menu list for your territory. As for another voice, that is true, I understand this a contract gig, probably will end by spring or sooner, but hey, I am collecting a paycheck while I am going to back to school to get out of this fricken industry (9 years-4 layoffs), so I collect a few sigs between classes, great life, great job, could not ask for more. As for no-see physicians, if you been in the industry long enough you know how to get around all these companies metrics-it is called lying, and the longer you have been in pharma, the better you get at it

You are 100% correct, and I won't lie and fake calls, so somebody needs to do something or our daily call average will be approx 4-6 calls a day. To lie about it or fake calls, I among many others will not do it. That seems to be what the younger reps are willing to do or the older reps who check the list but those of us who care, and there are a great many in Ocean 47, will not lie or cheat to "meet daily call numbers" so somebody needs to realize this in uppermanagement and throw us some help!!!
 






then your manager for ocean 47 is going to be in trouble and will be put in the ocean, companies do not want to hear "I can't see the Dr's" or the "clinic is closed to reps"
do what you have to do for yourself, repeat yourself, and lie, lie, lie,

that is why pharmaceutical sales have become a big joke, because you have a paper pusher sitting back in corporate with all of these statistics from the good old days, see this many physicians and it will generate sales, well let's see, this product has been out for how many years, I do believe the physicians know about AZ-crest already, just go with the flow and lie, if you don't like the target list-quit and move on to bigger and better things, if you not looking for employment while on this contract your crazy

This contract will be over before 12 months, thankful and all, work is hard to come by these days, but it is what it is, a huge cluster eff. The call list, target list whatever it is, is trash, junk, garbage. It's true and it seems there is nothing we can do about it except fake calls, lie, etc.
