The recent crackdown on expenses is completely nuts. Several departments too.
The hell is going on?

what crackdown? Out lunch budget is higher than most companies? The extra reimbursement for gym memberships, massages, etc is generous. The cable bill and car wash is definitely more than most companies?
Amazing what some people’s perception is. We have excellent benefits and overall compensation. I get crap for not having enough lunches and speaker programs but it’s not feasible in the territory.

OP must not be in sales.
Can confirm at least clinical, regulatory and med affairs have been told not to incur any new expenses, unless approved at VP+ level, until further notice.
That’s even things as simple as team events, travel, conferences, lunches etc.
Newsflash for OP: this website is for sales reps. Get a clue idiot
What a delightful response. Contrary to what big brain here says, I am not a sales rep. I also share OP's concern.
My department and others have heard of becoming more "financially disciplined" for a while Seemed benign until:
Multiple resignations
Holiday party postponed (see: cancelled)
Major crackdown on travel and expense
Hiring freeze
No backfills
FTE reqs put on hold regardless of need
Let's be real, the company has exploded in growth, made possible in no small part by that sweet government contract for REGN-COV. Unfortunately for us, the lobbyists for Pfizer and Moderna give better knob because REGN-COV was squashed and the government cheese will never roll in again.
There is also rampant inflation and a recession, whether people want to admit it or not. The company has to stay true to revenue targets.
I would be shocked if we didn't see layoffs.

They can start by dumping the so called diabetic eye reps

My DEM is useless. This person makes “calls” on the phone and sends me messages to go deliver samples. Had gotten kicked out of offices and is an embarrassment.

This applies to more than a few who are untrustworthy and non collaborative but who DW highlights as rockstars.
Midwest is the BEST
