Anyone know if these guys are building a sales force?

spoke with a recruiter about this and the pay is max 90k. Most will be around 80k. No company car so it will be tough to hire strong talent with their compensation package. With large territories and pain experience reps should be 120k+.

The recruiter I spoke with told me the same. 80k was the starting point and 90k was really pushing it. Target bonus is 30k. Without a company car, this job is laughable. Territories are half the state!

There will be a hiring event in February and then another event in March. The first round of reps that are hired will train the second round. I have never heard of anything similar to how they are planning to build the team. I think the company will eventually be a good place to work... Just getting through the growing pains and starting up a sales force will take time. The first round of hires will need specific experience selling any type of pain medication, the second round is all dependent on the hiring manager and how he/she chooses to build their team. Could be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to the long term and willing to sacrifice for a couple of years while the company is developing its culture and sales force. Good luck to all!

Would you suggest applying online though company website or with outsourced recruiter? I personally have experience selling a schedule II pain medication with a startup sales force.

Don't bother applying if you are in the Florida market...heard they hired the biggest d-bag manager who has absolutely no pain experience. Get ready to be slapped with a CIA working for this guy...he'll say and do anything it takes to get a script using his used car salesman tactics. Stay far, far away.

No chance getting this drug going in the opioid market. Not to mention awful managers. Hired nightmare laid off mangers with egos for miles that are completely clueless and hated. This company will never have a chance with SG in the Florida Market

Aside from the managers, why do you say there is no chance of getting this drug going in the opioid market? I'm not in FLA so looking an an opportunity here in a different region of the country (MA). I'm told this drug should get at least half decent coverage in MA given some gov't policy initiatives -- cant speak to other regions though, i know its rough out there in getting new drugs covered. Thanks for the input.

new drug?!? Lol it's oxycodone. It's been out in ER for 20 years. Not to mention all the generic oxycodone. The coverage will be awful because it is a scheduled 2. And good luck getting it stocked in pharmacies. We do not need anymore opioids. OxyContin is enough.

I've only heard good things about SG from reps who knew him at his last company. And he has sold in the pain market. And no this is not SG(usually the next comment). Just wondering where the crap about him is coming from. There's always room for more oxycodone. And to echo someone else, not all territories are huge. The talent and their culture looks good to me. If you don't like it then why are you even on this board?

You must work for Purdue. It's ok to be nervous about a little competition.
