Yeah getting sick of my leadership trying to protect my job by giving me a product to sell that guarantees the use of my product and whatever price I want to charge. The alternative is all the low priced competitors selling joints for half price and me making half the commission. Just sick of it. Get on board dude or get out. The only future in joints with high commissions is a robot they need to put them in...

Once we sell the robots they don't need us anymore. They can lower commissions because the customer has to buy Stryker joints. We are screwed either way. Better be saving our commissions.

I agree with the earlier posts. Robots are required for us to sell joints while preventing further price erosion. As for the commissions, they should be higher if the robot drives higher margin implants. Without the robots margin erosion will continue to accelerate. We will sell robots its good for us, good for Stryker and its good for customers to market the benefits of robotics.

What about the patients? Do you really believe robots are creating better outcomes? Keep hearing of robots shutting down unexpectedly in the middle of a case, creating long op times, and doing more harm than good. So, let’s sell more of them, because it’s good for Stryker, and so you make an extra 5 or 10k on higher implant margins. Shame on all of you.

Then check your sources because you hearing lies.

Also, lose the 'holier than thou' attitude. The people commenting are in sales, the patient is always a part of the thought process, because without good outcomes the rest doesn't matter. Capitalism at its finest. The sales mentality requires one to also have the ability to look at the business side and make choices, conclusions, responses from a business perspective.

The hospitals, and the legions of useless executives (all making ridiculous money) are the allowed to look at the business and screw the patients more than anyone, but your pompous ass, and most others, don't know that.

I know all too well about how the growing admin level and and useless execs rape the patient and the system, screwing docs and everyone else on the way. I also understand making business decisions to sell what is “better”. My point is, show me some evidence that a robot improves outcomes (TKA especially). Selling this on that basis is like selling snake oil. It is not better, and it disgusts me that it is promoted as such by the reps and the hospitals to unknowing patients.

This is either excellent subtle ironic trolling, or the most naive, brain washed response in the history of cafe pharma. Argue about Mistako all you want, while forgetting the cost of the CT scans passed along to the patient I might add lol. But to claim that Corp is going to INCREASE commissions????? Sounds like corporates plan is to cut commissions, push seasoned reps out to replace with younger/cheaper reps. Once you sell the Mako then why not just let the Mako tech (that the hospital is paying $80k for) open the boxes?

Depends on the area. Either way, no reason to have two reps standing around during a case when the robot is making most of the decisions. The Mako tech can just as easily open the implants. You’ll be told that you now have more time to go out and sell!
