If Alamo reps are out. Please inform me why back fill positions? Are they just hiring to put buyouts together for new hires that have been here for a week? Doesn't jive. Stir the pot some?
 






If I were Company A and I just bought Company B- I would evaluate Company B's assets. Which components of Company B are profitable and so on...
The ECR component of Company B has a turnover rate of- lets just say 30%- that would concern me. If I work for Company B, I would not want the buyer to be concerned with high turnover and low profits. So, my remedy would be to backfill positions. Then, on paper there is no problem with reps leaving because ECR is a great place to work. Who can pull the strings for ECR to have Alamo continue to backfill positions? AND- What would they have to gain??

Note:
Company A (or Akorn in this case) has already long ago evaluated which components of Company B (ECR) are profitable, etc. and that is why the takeover was made. High turnover and low profits are 2 unrelated areas. First of all, high turnover in sales does not translate to low profits. Actually it is interesting in our sales force how some of the high (or vacant) turnover territories are the best performing. Profitability can be enhanced in several other ways. Raise prices or decrease cost. Not back filling positions, elimination of middle management and duplicate corporate departments will all increase profitability. Company A does not care at all about turnover rates, etc. The more the merrier at this point. I would estimate that company A has a better plan for increased profitability by more effectively utilizing ECR production for components of the Akorn line, eliminating the non-essential Company B positions (i.e. all middle management), etc. It would be reasonable to believe that Company A has told company B not to enter into any long term agreements (Alamo reps) until company A has a chance to evaluate how (and if) to fill those positions.
 






So again, we are back to the end of the Alamo contract. Turnover has a direct impact on profitability as training costs, benefits, and the fact that both bupap and tussicaps rely heavily on the relationship a rep may have with the physicians. My theory is that the long term plan is to evaluate dollars and cents post merge and align territories accordingly. I would ponder the vacant territories weight relative to bupap. Why? because dollars not volume would generate the profit margin. Are the prescriptions moving up or is the increase in price driving profits. The profits will flatten.

Well in 10 days or so, ECR is going to have to make a decision about the Alamo reps. So as for long term contracts, short term contracts, whatever, they need to be talking. So the question is what happens to the Alamo folks? How long was/ is the original contract for? Oddly and not surprising at all, the great CD did not address that on our big call. But that would require true forward thinking to put that worry to rest.

The bottom line is that we were all lied to. This is not what I was told it would look like. I was going to grow with a small company and get paid by prescriptions generated in my territory. Unethical, No Integrity, and just flat out wrong to treat people this way. God help us all

You're not the brightest lightbulb, are you? The buyout hasn't happened yet. Me win Akorn, can still back out the deal. To keep this company looking attractive, you need to keep filling vacant territories. You don't wanna disclose the real reason you have vac ant territories

What is management going to do? They are the ones causing all of the trouble while we have to sit here and take it. They need to be held accountable. Instead people want to blame the employees, the same people doing all of the hard work and making money for the company. It isn't fair and I am angry about it!!!
 






So maybe we can be honest. No. The answer is NO!!!!!!! No one cares anymore. Anyone Who Is Remotely Honest With Themselves knows this is a dead end job. The valeant buy out is not all of a sudden make this a great sales force. The overall quality of reps here is sub par. The quality of management from asd up is, well it should be embarrassing. But they really have no idea how unqualified they are to "lead" others. Many of the reps have no idea because they honestly don't know any better. So I say no. None of us really cares any more.
