Well said - SPN and the cons here have a very short memory as to how we got into this big mess - She wore rose colored glasses for the entire 8 yrs of the Cheney/Bush Presidency.

Oh yeah. The problems just started in the last few years, it was all Bush and not the dem congress . Yet for obama he wants to blame the "republican" congress even though that is far from an accurate term. And yeah, we were all singing Bush's praises throughout his term.

But none of that is relevant. Obama promised the world and said whatever he thought voters wanted to hear. He would be their salvation and would provide for all. He has not made anyone better off and has caused extreme stagnation because of his continuous threats on anyone who could create real job growth. All that matters now is if you want more of this mess for 4 more years or will admit these policies, just like after the depression, extend the misery instead of correcting it.

It is exactly for people like you that we have to examine why these policies fail. Because you want to stay focused on blame instead of what works to move forward.

Conversely, how does funneling more money through the bloated government create jobs...besides more government jobs? Maybe you could use Obama's first $Trillion social experiment in jobs creation. How'd that work out? So there, you have a Trillion$$ tax increase (long term debt)...biggest ever...and, what did you get out of it? Now, you want more? Got another Solyndra you want us to invest half a bil in?

So the TAX cuts on the rich were extended months ago, so, where are the jobs???? According to the republican talking points, we should have a HUGE decrease in unemplyment rates instead of the steady increase we have seen every month. All we hear about in corporate America is more and more layoffs, yet the CEO's of these companies are making multi-million $$ bonuses. We can keep extending more and more tax cuts to them, and all they do is use the money to bonu$$ their executives.

So please answer my question with something other than a question. You eagerly elected a president who raised taxes on generations of citizens via a Trillion dollar boondoggle. Do you know anyone who got a job out of it except for Obama's union buddies? I guess your thinking, along with the other marxists on this board, is that we should give more and more money to the government which will require more and more government employees to the point that most of the economy is based on government employment. How long will that go on till you run out of money to fund the government busywork jobs?

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the current unemployment numbers lie. Help me understand how more taxes means more jobs.
 






Tink, so you think extending an existing policy is going to change the status quo?

What is constraining jobs are constant threats of attacking big business and the successful. Keeping tax rates the same was not to increase jobs but to avoid making a bad situation worse.

Now, back to 4D. Which obama policy added jobs? No the fake created jobs but a change in unemployment rates for the better.

Do you really want the government to take over even more and to dictate what you can and cannot have. I know you are not a deep thinker, but come on.

I, never said I voted him in. I do belive Bush doled out the first few Billion$. No, I do not know anyone who got a job out of it, as I know no one who got a job from Bush's bailout, nor tax cuts extended to the rich. More taxes donnot equate to more jobs, But you repubs will have us believe that less taxes will create jobs, which I have yet to see also.
 






While obama is feeding class warfare and the economy allows this to fester, the majority say tax the rich more! Easy to say because they want services but don't want to pay for them. Someone else should pay though! Yeah, lets tell people how much is fair for them to earn and keep! Yeah, just because they went to college and didn't make their body look like a pincushion or an inkwell, had kids after marriage, and stayed married, and put in long hours to get there, damn it, that 26 year old without college living in his parent's basment, tatted from head to toe, should have the same life as the CEO. It's only "fair", right?

Yet only a small percentage of these same people in the same polls think this attack on the wealthy will do anything to increase jobs.

So, should we tax the poor more? It might be rather hard considering they don't have any money.
Everyone wants Social Services yet they dont want to pay for it; just like my rich, republican, porshce driving aunt who is a tax dodger, yet she complains that her MEDICARE donut hole has made her pay full price now for all her meds! This is the type of hypocritical sh!t I hate!
Tell me, should rich people get MEDICARE? just askin..

I don't think salary should be taxed at all. I love the idea of a consumption or use based tax because you have total control over what you are taxed and it's not based on how successful you are. Everyone working should have skin in the game. And at NO time should someone get more in a tax return than what was withheld from their paycheck.

Medicare was meant to help the elderly. Unfortunately, it has caused most companies to end medical insurance as part of pension programs for retirees. Medicare should be phased but it can't be flat out ended without a plan because its implementation created a problem. I think Medicare in entirety should be phased out but not in just one more way to hurt those who do what it takes to pay their own way through life. If Medicare is only for those in financial need, how is it different than Medicaid?

I agree about the consumption tax, there should also be a luxury tax, cigarette tax, alcohol tax, fat tax and fat cat tax.
But what if you can afford your own health insurance, like if you have about $40 million in annual salary, is it fair to give medicare to those?
