Announcement Plan for 2012 Downsizing

Have they asked for volunteers before...hell no...the management doesn't give a dam about the reps...haven't thay made that clear over the past three years!!!

Grow up! I'm a rep. I'm not happy about the idea of getting cut, but look around. EVERONE is going through this not just Novartis. Don't be a child. Cry baby!

Amgen hired a laid off Novartis Reclast rep from northern New England and increased the rep's base pay by $12,000 to $96,000 and bonus structure with a $30,000 goal, which the rep is hitting, an overall $25,000 increase over the rep's best year at Novartis, with all the same bene's as at Novartis (including free company car and gasing and cleaning the family car on the company - but Amgen doesn't know it) and only working 20 hours a week - just like Novartis. Best part, the rep didn't miss a payment check between the final Feb. 7 termination date and start date at Novartis.

Post 23: what part of your brain makes you think it's okay to gas and wash your family's car on a company's dime? I believe that would be called stealing. Nice values your teaching your children. Grow up.

1. Amgen is a hard co to work for
2. Novartis had better payout than Sanofi did last year
3. Interesting that last year Sanofi and Novartis had layoffs on same day.
4. There is life outside of Novartis. Love my new pharmaceutical job. Bonus is much better. Salary is close to the same--and I am very happy.

I would gladly take 20 weeks plus 2 for every year. Can I still collect unemployment.

HEY MORON, GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND A JOB IN THIS ECONOMY. BEFORE YOU THINK I'M A NOVARTIS BUTT BOY I'VE BEEN OUT OF WORK 11 MONTHS. MAKING A WOPPING $354.38 A WEEK TRY TO SUPPORT A FAMILY ON THAT. OH YEAH, AND WAIT UNTIL YOUR INSURANCE RUNS OUT

I guess I am a moron. I make almost $200k a year with a side business that is why I want to be laid off. I just will not leave on my own. So who is the poor moron. You.

Everyone i know that was cut last year has found a job and most are in pharma.
Some of these are over 40 as well. Yes, you may have to take a cut in pay but if you can interview well and highlight the things you have done in the past, it shouldn;t be that hard

Most of those downsized that I know also have work, most have not gone back into pharma and most are making as much or more than when they were downsized. It is evident that the loser who is still living on unemployment did not prepare for downsizing, and did not look at opportunities outside of the small sphere in which he/she worked. I also have seen most reps over 40 that were downsized have been especially resilient in finding something else to do.

1) Nice job numbering your thoughts.

For all the novartis haters, I get it, it sucks to be you. But does it really? I mean, that bad? And if so, why don't you leave and get that amazingly better job? What's holding you back? Just curious as it's still a free economy and you are not tied to a contract, why stay if you are so miserable? Seriously curious.

I stay for the people work with, the benefits, the autonomy, my life. It's not too bad.

I stay for the easy 6 figure salary plus bonus and can work a few hours a day. I don't think it is better elsewhere, the job has just gone downhill. I do not like what I do but will do it until get laid off or fired. Why would I leave? If forced to leave I will leave the pharma industry. The amazing better job is when you become your own boss and not having to report to a person who is less educated but better with corporate politics. For many years I worked hard to end up with little bonus because of unrealistic goals or non reporting issues. Now I do not work hard and bonuses are better than ever. I'm at peace with whatever my future brings.
