Amgen lay off

This has been asked ad nauseam. No one knows except upper mgmt. Unfortunately times have changed and they aren't going to say anything or even announce when they will say something until the last minute. Zero communication is the new norm!

ya this is a well kept secret.....I heard within the next 4 weeks, maybe less maybe more, this is very much like the 2007 RIF...about the same time in the year also....should be interesting.

dosed implementation

The hallway & cubicle consensus is - VTP first, announcement/offers within the next 30 days, RIF second (anywhere from Aug to Oct). Albeit all year some functions began shedding HC, not to be re-filled (internally).

Sure, sure. I have yet to hear any talk of layoffs, VTPs or what have you. There are going to be no layoffs this year or the next or the next year after that. So, go find another site to troll.
End of thread.

After earnings are announced all will be known and the dominoes will start to fall! Good luck!!

Seen this happen at a previous company. No layoffs for long periods and everybody gets comfy. Then they go through a major reorg with cuts (Feb.2014) and after that, not a week goes by without more layoff rumors and speculation with no basis or facts to support. What a wasted of time.

I don't know what planet you're on but Amgen has been laying off, walking out the door, moving people to contract positions, and losing personnel to other companies for the last 6 years in the US. It is not empty gossip....ARI has gone from 1700 to about 700 and ACO has gone from 1800 to about 400. Even ATO had major layoffs over the years. No one has been "comfy" except maybe the executives on the BoD. There have been 3 good sized layoffs this year alone, and it is just July.

Did anyone else interpret the recent org email regarding PD to mean layoffs not until September? That could mean R&D drags on until October?!?

Yeah, that PD email basically stated that there won't be any announcements (affecting PD) until September when they finish announcing the org structure. Not sure about the rest of the business units but it looks like PD will be waiting.

Is this the mock draft or the real thing?

That Parkinson’s disease unit will be shut down anyway. No future in this company.
