Amarin

I was told today that I am not moving on :( I think it was age discrimination. I had all the credentials all the awards and years of CV experience. This keeps happe ing to me I am sick and tired of it and am looking into trying to prove it. I have made it ti the final 2 at least 5 times and am always passed over.

What is your age? I'm getting up there myself! Now I'm worried.

The same thing has happened to me lately. However, I am only in my 30s. I really hope it isn't age discrimination in your case. I hope it is just the unfortunate result of an extremely competitive market. I truly hope something works out for you soon. I know how incredibly frustrating it can be. And if you can prove it, then go for it!

Amarin is going down the shitter. Their stock dropped 21% today! This is going to be a very, very bumpy ride! Stay away from this contract!

Do you think it just dropped because people playing the market realized they weren't going to make a quick profit since the company doesn't look to be selling in the near future, therefore they dropped the stock. That, and they probably lost faith in the fact that Amarin can go it alone. It was what I expected, well, probably not that big of drop, but I did expect a drop. I think they are underestimating the company, at least given the people I know interviewing. All remains to be seen. And if you get it, at least you are employed for a little while.

This is not a contract. If you knew anything about the stock market you would know why the price drop today. Go listen to the conference call that is posted above.

Geez, you could be describing me. I made it to the second interview, then found out they went another way. I have years of cardiovascular experience selling statins, ARBs, ACE-Is, and anti-arrhythmics. I explained the whole atherosclerotic process to the manager, discussed the evolution of the treatment of lipids from bile acid sequestrants to statins, as well as the Marine study data for Vascepa vs Lovaza's profile.

I think all he cared about was current relationships and finding someone who might even have L&Ls already set up from another company. I tried to explain that in order to take on GSK, this was not going to be just a relationship sell--that it would require a rep who carried a lot of credibility and could sell a different way of looking at lipid management.

Like you, I get passed over for every position, and that's if I can even get an interview. It is almost impossible to complete these applications now days without them being able to figure out how old you are. Guess it's not a plus in the pharma industry to be over 50 and mostly bald.

I think everyone that was going to get an offer has received one by now. They went out this week. I guess the rest of us wait for our rejection letters, if they even send those out.

Can anyone actually confirm that they did receive an offer? It seems like everybody on here got passed up for somebody else. I have a hard time believing any offers went out. The GIA announcement and interviews are most likely all part of the poker game taking place between Amarin and big Pharma.

What "poker game", BP are laughing at Amarin.
