Acumed

anyone know the typical commission payout? Is this line well received by surgeons or is it an uphill battle? I have heard they have good hand and radial business....any feedback from thise who work there or see it in the field?

12-14% - Market penetration is decent but reps are rarely in room -- Good product -- Would actually be a great pickup for a large company looking to expand their trauma line

Acumed is a great line unfortunatly the distributors such as the one in upstate ny is a scumbag. Be careful if this is the one your looking into you'll be told a flat out lie about income level and never have the trays available for the cases you can pick up.

Accumed has nice clavicle plate, distal radius plate, elbow plates, but nothing they have is as good as synthes, and they are so penetrated everywhere they will kick your ass and you wont even know its going on until its too late. Get a spine job, dont work in trauma, synthes is too strong....

The guy that has Acumed in Albany NY doesn't put very good reps in the field I know that, hiring you girls fresh out of college to speak to Truama surgeons? Kidding right? Too bad, Acumed seems to have some nice products but they got scammed by this dick like most of his customers.

actually their clavicle plate and distal radius is better than Synthes (cant comment on the elbow plates). However nothing touches DePuy/Hand Innovations distal radius. If DePuy would get their act together within their trauma division, they will be a force in the market. Acquiring HI, and moving to Miami was a major step in the right direction.

This is all true, I recently have been using the the DePuy elbow set with a former accumed elbow user and he is extremely happy. DePuy has the products and the drive. We just need to get exposure. Synthes is smart because most of their hospitals are afraid to deviate from the norm and they keep them based off non binding "contracts" in addition to non clinical factors. Fear of the unknown.....

Above posters reffering to the Acumed Dist in Albany have been all over this board and many others. I've seen this guy in action and had some friends interview with him. One word SHADY describes that outfit best. Acumed would do itself a great service if they want to compete in Upstate NY by cutting this guy loose. Competing in trauma with reps that don't know there head from there ass??? Brilliant move dummy.

Strykers new elbow plates look pretty good too. Is it that varilax technology?

HAHAHAHAHAH The best thing that has happened to Synthes Distal Radius Plate was J&J buying HI, the DVR plate penetration actually retreated 5% the year after they were bought by depuy.

I 2nd one of the above posts, I have tried most of the elbow systems out and the Stryker variax is the nicest most intuitve one available, low profile, strong and it has the variax angle technology.

Best clavicle plates on the market and one of the best elbow systems along with Depuy's. Also a solid distal radius plate that is being offered for dirt cheap to surgery centers. Overall seems like a good portfolio.
