Abbvie approved. Gilead is toast

First week comparisons are not apples to apples here. Gilead did not have a market competitor and did not launch in the last two weeks of december. The first week of January will be the true determinant after new insurance contracts kick in. Pretty much everything was on hold when Abbvie launched, which is not a reflection of product demand.

Listen, Gilead is still going to be the market leader. But what happened shows you that people despise Gilead, and will go any other direction they can.

Unfortunately, providers and patients have short term memory. The fact that the ABBV product didn't give them reason to switch, you sir, will have an up hill battle. At the end of the day, the best product always wins. Good luck.

Sovaldi/Harvoni will make it up in volume and market share. Top analysts are calling for 85% share now. It will be more like low 90's.

And, the lower acquisition cost means more patients will be treated. whether they will admit it or not, payors will benefit with lower overall treatment cost. patients will benefit with shorter treatment times, tolerability, convenience and a CURE.

Everyone wins. Except AbbVie and ESI, of course.

idiot

you can discount all you want. You are already at 46% overall and I know it it much higher at some accounts. Your BP is probably around 30,000 by now. Get ready for next round of 20,000, then 10,000 then 5,000. Poof goes the GILD

Ask management what net price was at United and Cigna. Your jaw will hit he ground. GILD idiots ruined the market.

Losing your shirt on ABBV, eh? Or anticipating Merck's entry, perhaps? As of yesterday, you'll have to wait a little longer. Good luck with that.

The once lucrative HepC market was destroyed by ABBV and their shitty product/deep discounting/single-product contracting. Save your ire for those Bozos...

In the meantime, more will have access to a innovative, life-saving drug. Its a good thing. Money isn't everything after all.
