Abbott told us 7-9 months then rolled over!

So...who's heard what??? 40 positions available, when are we done? I've heard tomorrow, Mid-November and April. Anyone have solid info??

I heard the Monday after Thanksgiving or end of November. But has anyone heard they may keep SOME of us. After all there are some territories with only NQ reps. It was hard to read anything into Kirk's email but just the fact that it came 6 days later than the jobs actually posted on Abbott's site (10/8) is pretty bad communication. Plus, I have yet to receive any communication whatsoever from my NQ manager - she is a joke.

When are you gonna realize that your just a contract rep. They are not gonna tell you a damn thing. You signed a contract stating that Abbott could cut you at anytime. The fact that Kirk just sent the email shows your manager didn't know. By your your post you were not one of the 40 chosen to interview for Abbott. Well mr. or mrs, JV superstar, looks like your not gonna make varsity. How ironic the same manager your calling a joke, is the same manager that you'll cry to when Abbott drops your ass from the team. Now go set up lunches and drop some samples for your Abbott counterpart, during the 2 weeks you got left.

When pushed Pam will fold and not back you up. No backbone. If Abbott tells her that you are no good then that's what she will report. She is just trying to stay out of trouble rather than doing what is the right thing to do. I have seen her do it to multiple people.

Then she has you fooled. She is like 99% of managers in that she sees what she is told to see. Reviews allways reflect what the numbers show regardless of actions of the rep. If management wants someone out then she does what it takes to get them out. I know of people she rode with where she was only putting on a show and nothing that the rep would have done would have changed a thing. She isn't going to stand up for what is right if she thinks her job is on the line.

40 Rep Rollover to Abbott

I believe that these 40 rollover positions were "posted" on Abbott Job Board because they had to be legally, but actually they represent the All-Stars from NovaQuest from 2009. The date is November 1.

Intetesting that there would even be a rollover amidst the rumors of cuts and the stratments by Don Patton. In this industry, you never know.

at this point I just want to be put out of my misery. Give me the call so I can use my time to interview. My managers are all the sudden coming down hard on us to save their asses so it makes us miserable. Incessant field travel, conference calls with best practices, give me a break. The line has already been drawn, What the hell are they waiting for????
 






Well, well, well Abbott is finally having to face the facts that they don't know what they are doing and let idiots like J. Miller run the show for too long. Abbott has let their legal dept run things and forgotten that sales reps need support material that isn't over 5 years old.
Does nyone think that they were smart in the way they handled Tricor and Trilipix? Hell No! Was Simcor a great launch? Of course not but then it was NEVER gong to be a great product and they have never admitted that. Do you think that Certriad could have been handled better? LOL How well did they handle that pain medicine launch and approval? How well did they handle the approval of their medication for Asthma/COPD that was going to rival Adviar?
Yeah, Abbott is one super smart company with lots of great leadership. Excuse me while I throw up a little in my mouth. ;)
Then again Novaquest is just as bad with managers that do whatever the Abbott managers want them to do. I have seen reps go from being a top performer to bottom of the barrel because they were moved into a different region which didn't compare apples against apples. Where the rep did a great job before they were suddenly a poor performing rep and what was once a rep with great selling skills was now a rep that couldn't sell. Ha Ha
Abbott has known that this day was coming and that's the reason why so many managers have been rough on reps because they thought that if their territory was performing better it might give them a better chance to keep their own jobs but that's a joke too. Often when they layoff occur there is no consideration to how well the rep or manager is performing as to whether or not they are kept.

If I can keep up with what I have been earning the past 4 months I will break 200K this year and no I am not in device sales working 80+ hours a week. Your first mistake was to ever get mixed up with this company. It is well know that this is probably the most unethical company in the US. They have been lying to employees and contract employees for year. Never go near this company!
