Abbott Nutrition

Layoffs today in Columbus. Anyone else affected?

Seems that these things happen on the last Tuesday of a quarter? Thoughts?

Tough break for Columbus gang; some close to retirement were exited early, several dozen overall affected. AN business has been delivering weak numbers and shrinking, with weak bonuses last 1-2 years. We need a robust turnaround - some leadership change is needed.

Any scuttlebutt on DVP changes?

Abbott is a horrible company all around. Stay away, find utopia. And when you do, please share your findings with the rest of us so we can follow.

Whoa! Easy ... AN is going through a tough phase; but Abbott is a long standing company with stock price reaching peaks these days. Like any other big healthcare giant, Abbott also cuts people to meet financials - but its no worse than Glaxo, Novartis, Merck, Pfizer etc.

Good luck friend

I never heard of either organization. You must have made them up. I bet you were the nurse who made my wife cry when she asked for a bottle of formula so she could get some sleep. You are a breast feeding bully.

Not the previous poster, but...you've never heard of the NIH (National Institute of Health) or the UN (United Nations)? I guess we know that you weren't breastfed.

Soo when does Adult go back to work? Peds is looking at mostly June rolling basis.
Trade sales never missed a beat. Then again trade sales actually makes money without. Peds just hands out formula, lunch and learns etc. Adult not much better. Discounting product at 80% off or more. Peds and Adult sales are high paid baristas and whiners

anonymous you people are really pathetic. Abbott is a good conpany. Albeit never was and never will be a great company. Mostly because of yes men they hire and promote. And yes I was one of them. However in the 80s and early 90s our stock split every 2.5 years making me very well off back when a mm$ was real money. After 25 years I retired and started my own company. The reason was idiots like you people. Abbott was too conservative and reflected the values of the people living in neighborhoods around their headquarters. North shore Lake Forest, Gurnee and worst Libertville. The level of employment inbreeding from janitors related to VPs to multi generational relationships caused a deficit in ideas that stiffled bold leadership and ideas. Lately Miles has done some things to solidify stockholder equity. Albeit very slowly. But even he realized he has run out of ideas and handed it over to younger and hopefully bold new leadership. Why don't you guys stop living in the past. Get yourself promoted and get some changes. Instead if being a bunch of backbenchers???
