The original post is true so save your vacation days now!
Another real DM here. Think about what is going on in the background before you believe any rumors. In order to pull off a large scale layoff, HR must be involved. If you have talked to an HR person lately they do not seem to be too busy planning anything exciting. Another thing that is almost always in place before a cut is a hiring freeze. If you look throughout the country there have been a number of reps hired just in the last few weeks even in territories with questionable access. Too many trainings and pilots scheduled to have a big reduction as well. I know my reps have trainings and meetings tentatively scheduled into Q1 of the next sales year. I think people can rest for a while. Will there possibly be more changes, sure, but they are more likely to by OU territory by territory adjustments rather than big countrywide versions. Biggest thing is just hope that the new meds all get approved with indications that can be useful in primary care. Ilaris could be great with Rheumatoid and arcapta could be the start of many good things to come if the future combos pan out. There will always be layoff rumors, trust your OWN observations, you will most likely know when it really will happen by watching hiring, HR, meeting schedules etc...
He's an ass!
Is it true the head of the NE wanted to put his unit into that sweet sweet FL honey ?
Thats what the "pride" of long island told his region
I asked many people in NY and NJ and no reps got save the dates for Sept. Managers have a week of training and reps will have the one day DPM as per my manager. I spoke to someone today from in house at a kids party and she told me that hundreds of people were recently let go from in house in different departments. This was the first I heard of this. She also told me budgets are being pulled again and things are getting worse inside. Rumored field cuts in-house is what she said and told me what companies are looking to hire but didn't say it was 100%. She agreed with me that everyone feels the writing is on the walls for the layoffs in the field. This is coming from someone who is heading a brand team.

Give thanks if you are safe. You will receive a voice mail to stay home the following day for an "important call from your manager regarding organizational changes" These will take place the week after the labor day holiday weekend either Monday or Tuesday to go over changes in the sales force. You will find out during your stay home "calls" by the end of the week for your new assignment and potential new manager. Selling in the field the following week, conf calls with your new teams and home study for overlapping products to follow. This allows time for "displaced" reps to back fill open positions and have everyone trained on new products and in place by national meetings which will be taking place in November or December. It will be very similar to the way it went down in 2010.
Can be 30-40% reductions across the board in each OU. Hardest hit will be gen meds, neuro and onc. Most territories will have a total of approx 2-3 reps. There will be many areas with 1-2 reps for all products.
Criteria has already been set and determined. Last years ratings, geography, tenure and awards all have a role to play.
Package will be the same as 2010. Minimum 20 weeks pay per rep displaced or 2 weeks per year , health benefits through december 2012, $2500 one lump training bonus and career placement assitance. Company car to be returned by sept 27th.
God bless us all!!
Any updates regarding the layoff next week?
Everyone will be given five minutes in a dark room to keep their job. There will be a jar of lube, a vibrator and a pair of knee pads. The only other person in the room will be a member of upper management. Choose wisely. Your job depends on it.
Yes.
The Official update is that this whole thread is BS.
That is all.
How certain is everyone thinking that this next round of layoffs will happen this September? I am about 50% certain. You??
