A typical day?

Guys,

I think we need to let up on her. She asked some questions and the collective response was pretty rude. I wouldn't want someone talking to my wife, mother or daughter like that. She can't be too naive if she is working a 45+ work week and making 175k plus better benefits then we get. Seriously, I am working at least 800 more hours a year then she is...for what an extra $25-30K? I am not so sure that she isn't the smarter one. That doesn't include all of the overnights we have away from home.

I guess none of you remember what it was like to get into this industry? No wonder others consider our company toxic. Things are nowhere near what they were like when I started here and it is not the company it once was so I think a good percentage of us need to get off of our high horse as Intuitive isn't that well respected anymore. Heck, this is entry-level device for many. What happened? I think a bunch of you got too big for your britches!

What would your manager say if you requested to work 7-5 because you got yourself into a single parent situation?

Your typical day will start off by being intimidated by your managers to lie to surgeons about how they need to learn how to use the robot to increase your cases. Even though the facts do not support your claim that the machine is better or safer for patients. Those who are great at lying daily need only to apply.

New hires should have no feels of others let alone your own family. Your hours will be longer then most in the sales industry due to the numerous adverse events you have to explain to the FDA Maude report.

"We're a phenomenal company to work for and ive been here for over 5 years. When i look around at my awesome colleagues, there's not a single one of them that would ever resort to trolling CafeP to investigate the 7-5 workday restrictions........" I call bullshit.....

This fucking poster is here trolling the CafeP and then admonishes others for being here... He sounds like the type of dweeb that get his ass kicked in bars a lot. Seriously, what man call co-wokers "Awesome"? LMAO He sounds like a fucking pussy.

If you care and you don't want to see me on this board 24/7 then tell Intuitive to settle the following cases:

Zarick, et al. v. Intuitive Surgical, Inc. The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara

Erika Starr. v Intuitive Surgical, Inc Untied States District Court of Ohio

LYNELE MCDANIEL vs. INTUITIVE SURGICAL, INC., Marion Superior Court , Indianapolis, Indiana

yes, we do have an AX to grind.

She doesn't work here yet...she was asking what a typical day was like (which no one really ever answered) and wondering if surgeries were all day. She obviously doesn't know how scheduling works so that is why she was asking. It is called researching for the interview and it is better that she does it here then to waste her time interviewing if it is going to be a job that doesn't work for her. Geez, are you guys such idiots that you can't comprehend a simple question. She wasn't asking if it was ok to only work until 5pm or if she could cut loose early. She was asking when surgeries were and when we were expected to be out recruiting. If we were out selling in the afternoon then there is less of a chance for surgery delays and a more consistent end of the work day.

To the original OP - I think you would be better off with a company that isn't focused on the OR. There are just too many opportunities for a surgery to get delayed since you have to wait on everyone else in the hospital and you would often be late getting home. I would say on average at least once a week. Good for you trying to inquire prior to the interview and shame on the jerks who think they are better than you because they can work a 12 hour day.

OP,

Getting into back and forth arguments on an anonymous chat board shows you are a little emotionally needy.

Really the only correct answer, is no answer at all, just move on and don't feel the need to respond to every comment, you will never win.

You have to remember this is a completely anonymous message board. You should absolutely not take anything said here as gospel. Talk to real people who work at ISI if you want legit information. Judging a company off of what people say on CafePharma is ridiculous.

Wow...I post 4 times, use 4 exclamation points and am accused of being overly emotional. I now have no doubt as to why ISI is considered being a terrible place to work with a toxic culture and incredibly high turnover. It is staffed with a bunch of arrogant, male jerks. You guys think you are all that and come to find out, you would sell your soul to the highest bidder (or paycheck) No, I wouldn't marry an ISI rep because he would never be home. I am sorry but a 60+ hour work week is ridiculous for a single or married person. Your company owns you and if you are ok with that then I feel so sorry for your family.

I came on here to get an idea of whether or not this would be a good fit and several of you couldn't resist bashing my questions. It is not like I can just walk in the OR to ask questions. Don't you remember what your mother told you, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." To those that replied with the intention of being helpful, thank you! I appreciate the time you took to help me out. I guess you are the exception to the company being staffed by jerks.

I apologize for the idiots replying to your fair question. Don't let them get you to react. This is not a terrible place to work. For the majority of us it is incredibly rewarding, both professionally and personally. I hate to see someone form an impression without at least a bit of fair balance.

Thank you HR. Is monitoring CP now incorporated into your job responsibilities?

Fair and balanced? About time! Tell me more about the good stuff! your general comment with no detail and calling others "idiots" is impressive. I'm sure you have a body of good experiences to share.

Geez! What a bunch of fucking ass clowns. What happened to the intuitive i used to work for. Tough? Yes...top sales reps only need appy? YES!

Now it seems only the blind, crippled, and crazy apply.

Sounds like what detroit has become.

Good luck!
