My wife told me that there are about to be big layoffs across your organization. I guess that it pretty evident by the number of people viewing this blog on a weekend. I want to wish all of you luck including my wife. Are there any known official announcements of layoffs coming up? I was just laid off last month, and would love for people to share what they know. We have some savings but we are scared right now. Thanks for your sincere help.

Nothing to be scared of. Been downsized 4 times in my pharmaceutical career.

Here is what you do:

1. Consider downsizing if you can't pay your bills.
2. Soak up the unemployment benefits and be picky with finding a new job until those benefits run out.
3. If the benefits run out and you can't find your choice job, then you are going to have to look for something outside of the industry. Insurance sales is a good one. Lots of work and the pay is good. If that is not your thing, then there are lots of other good sales jobs out there.
4. Never be afraid. You have to maintain your confidence and calm during this. Things will be fine.
5. Good luck, have faith in your Creator and relax, it is all going to be OK. Trust me.
 




Take a big insurance policy out on yourself. On your commute drive off a bridge or gain some speed and go head to head with a semi. Make it look like an accident, your family will be fine!

Soak up unemployment benefits? Do you live in a tent? They're nothing more than grocery money.

Unless you have 2 incomes being on unemployment is horrible....a piddle, chump change. Might be ok but only if you have no bills and another revenue stream!

ROA told me a DCO meeting is happening in Philly on Monday called by Riad. You know something is coming because they are holding it at a hotel by the airport instead of at HQ. Looks like more cuts are coming, except for upper management. They always seem to find a place in the company. Good Luck Everyone!

WTF is wrong with you? Talk about a useless POS - I hope everyone reading this has the good sense not to confuse a permanent solution with a temporary problem. Merck isn't worth anyone's life.

Duhhh!

Entire states are dropping out of it because it's such a disaster!
Its causing millions of people with good insurance plans to lose them then be forced into crappy, inferior O'care plans.....with ticket prices 2 or 3 times higher!!!
Higher co-pays, deductibles and Rx costs!
People losing their doctors...as docs kicked off plans they've been on for years......and now more leaving medicine...

Nothing wrong?????.........
Obviously still defending anything from the O, just 'cause it's it came from him.

Wait until everyone working in corporate america sees what their benefits will cost with the massive increases slated for 2015; just wait, and then see is o care is so great.
