Reuters has 2 conflicting stories... The first story talks about 2500 cuts COMING Globally while a corrected version says 2500 have ALREADY been cut over the past year. So which is it.... or maybe it's both!?!?!? Who knows, but I am sure that I will have at least 10 morons respond with absolutely ZERO useful info and completely UNFUNNY to boot.

2500 were already cut during the last year (silently) and 2500 more will be cut right now.

Its an open secret in East Hanover. APPARENTLY It will be a messy October all over but apparently especially in the field for sales and other positions. You can feel the tension already in East Hanover. Thanks McKinesey! Love to all their "big-bad-idea" do-nothing whining consultants that now work in house all over the damn company.

It won't be October. These cuts historically have taken place in December. Look to the 1st two weeks in December. 3 months pay following 2 weeks for every year. Good luck to all.

Really....because historically, as in last year the layoffs happened in October

Reps were notified on December 2, 2010 and their last day as an employee was February 7, 2011. Cars and computers were returned and picked up in December. Some cars were picked up sooner than others. Reps were sent boxes with labels to ship back computers, phones and literature. I shipped back every bit of paper I had. Let them pay shipping so I did not have to put it out for recycling. I did leave gas in the car though. The person who picked it up was a nice older gentleman.

So what are you doing now? Did you find other employment? Just curious, because I was laid off then and I STILL haven't been able to find decent employment. I've had offers for jobs that paid $10/hour but turned them down. Not expecting to get a salary comparable to my pharma salary, but curious as to what others have found out there. Thanks in advance for your reply.

55 YO WHITE MALE, NO OFFERS NOT GOOD

60 year old male, MBA through Novartis. Used severance as seed money to start my own business (had been in the works for years). I have 4 employees, business very good. I will take home more this year than last year and love every day

Heading out to my Town Hall meeting. Can't wait to hear how there will be no downsizing, layoffs, restructuring, CCI or whatever they want to call it. So excited to hear about the amazing pipeline and how we need to stop the inaccurate rumors our colleagues are spreading. Better stop for some Kool-Aid on the way over. They never provide it at the hotels.

I did not take the Novartis severance package. I filed an EEOC complaint. I am fortunate enough that I did not need their package and I understand why others had to sign for the package.

FLM here... Manager's will be at a National Manager's Meeting in Florida week of Dec. 5th. Just got official invitation notice yesterday. If it is going to happen, I doubt it will be in December.

Or is that the meeting after the cuts, welcoming the survivors, and announcing the new plan?
Wasn't there a similar meeting last December?
