I hope there are some FLM's and RD's that get the axe because Karma always comes back around. You backstabbing bastards!

I have my next gig already lined up
Thats what Novartis wants. Then they don't have to pay you a severance
You can't collect severance until the 60 days are over, that is your last official day of employment. After that you will get your severance packet to sign, cobra starts and you are eligible for unemployment benefits at that time. Let's hope your next gig is after the 60 days. Buy hey, if it's not....probably cut your losses with the severance and just be happy you have a new gig that will outlast what your severance would have been.
Why couldn't you start a new job within the 60 day window? Who would know? It's not like you're going to be out making calls or going to meetings during that time?
That's a good idea. Why not? The layoff last year the reps were pretty much let go immediately last year, other than to mail stuff back and give computer back.
I am sorry for all of those that have been affected by this horrible situation. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them as well as their families. It could be anyone of us at any time. This is the time to reach out to them, and help in anyway, whether you competed against them, worked with them, or know them from being in the industry.
