If you read the plan terms it's actually just more free money. If you are severed you get all the cash at once. I'm focused!

Not sure how extra money of any sort is looked at as a negative thing? Free money that I'll get 100% of when I get severance? I'll take it.

Celgene has been great to me and my family. The severance plan was proof of how far they're willing to go to protect us and the focus bonus is just one of the many bones they're throwing us. I will miss this company.

No, the retention bonus is renamed “Focus Bonus”. But it is in addition to the already generous severance. So most of us can get both, if we stay to the date of the buyout. But only a fourth on that date of focus
