Xeris needs to either be sold outright or license its technology/intellectual property and get out of the sales gig. This place reeks of desperation now.
What if hypopen isn’t available until November and even then only in limited quantities?
Glucagon product is a poor choice to base a company on - it is a niche product becoming less and less relevant with each passing year as diabetes management is made easier, and severe hypo made easy to avoid through the use of CGM which is now quite standard throughout type 1 world. The old glucagon emergency kit, despite our best efforts to place it in a bad light, is the cheapest and most easily available. On conference calls when leadership states “GEK is almost impossible to use” - WTF , no it’s not!
As for the extra instruction by HCPs when providing GEK - ‘REMEMBER - this is important, you need to 1) inject the diluent into the vial then 2) withdraw active glucagon then inject. (Referencing demo kits every office has) - yes it is one additional step but it is not difficult. No PAs required ever.
Keep in mind there is also instruction with GVoke- 1) do not keep it in the refrigerator (something patients have been doing for decades)- 2) if you are going to carry a GVoke syringe loose -ex using one from a two pack- put it in a small tupperware or hard container (because it doesn’t come w a container and if stored loose in a gym bag or backpack with book or whatever it could be damaged and not usable when you need it.
 






What this moronic compnay doesnt understand if you get sick then they are liable. You can acutally sue your manager for putting you in harms way and if god forbid someone dies becasue your idiot manager made you go into offices then they will also face criminal charges in addition to civil charges. Already asked my attorney and this is what he told me. You can the shit out of Xeris for putting you in harms way!!

Your attorney is an idiot! You can't face criminal charges for asking someone to do their job. Your job is at will, meaning if you don't like it and have a problem being asked to do it, you can quit and find another one. Nobody is forcing you to stay with your company. If you are not comfortable doing your job, you don't have to do it. But if you agreed to be paid to do the job you were asked to do, then you should do it. Nobody is putting you in harms way. You agreed to do a job. Either do it or quit. Pretty simple.
