i am planning on applying for a position in technical field(non-operator).
would you tell me how things are like?
are the people knowledgeable? nice? retention rate?
do you get annual raise / bonuses?

any information will be highly appreciated!

It impossible to get things done. Micromanagement from highest levels. CCC turned into decision making by consensus. Slow. Process deficient. Angry Leadership fire highest level people every other day. Great pay. Passionate culture. Has ability to be great. On the verge of greatness. Tough to recruit talent to WV and Pitt so hiring a lot of people without appropriate experience. Leaders can't speak up so emperor doesn't know is naked. Lot of opportunity. At crossroads. Too big to manage this way. Legacy leaders would not be at levels they are if at any other large company. Great benefits. Do not do anything unethical. Could be more successful if let people do their jobs without 2nd guessing everything. Chairman and CEO both care about employees as a whole. Extremely smart Chairman and CEO both. They are relentless. The leaders directly below them weak. The leaders 2 levels below much stronger and not legacy leaders. Very top heavy. Not enough Indians to do work. Better than most big companies but much slower and less competitive. Will catch up to them as many competitors merge and leave behind. Good luck.

As with any job your boss will make you are break you. There are some really great leaders at mylan, but my opinion is that most are just "yes" men and will not truly support their employees.

Really--I don't know about the extra marital activities, but I can tell you there are many people who are now in leadership positions that are not qualified and are in over their head. Promoting from within is great, but it seems like being buddies not brilliant is what gets you promoted. That management philosophy will damage the organization in the future.

Thank good old Potter for this. If you kiss his ass, laugh at his jokes and belly up to the bar with him you are the new hero in town. Don't hate the messenger. It's all true and you know it.

That so true. That is how several people have gotten promoted.

We have very weak senior level leaders, we need to hire top tiered outside talent or we are doomed. But then again who would come to this shithole city. If you are not from the burg then you will not fit in and will hate this place. Worst schools and horrible food.

Spot on, several us came here and nothing panned out to be true. If you have other options then jump ship now.

Yes, many, and I mean many affairs going on in this company. I personally know people, who I know are married, hooking up. I know one woman, newer to the company, who is still married and either just left her husband or leaving him, to hook up with someone here. Word travels pretty fast. It's wild because it's a way of life here. It's is not a good culture in terms of marriage stability compared to some other companies I worked for in 20+ yrs in bus. I know it happens at other pharma companies and I know some of these folks are not bad people. Just victims of being away from home alot and falling prey to affairs. However, this place is a zoo in that department. Just take notice of people who separate from their spouses. Just go to a leadership meeting and you'll see what I see. Go to PITT for a meeting and it's wild. It's worrisome in a way because I know some of these people and they are overall good people, just lost in a negative culture of cheating. The company is good to work for but you have to keep yourself above waters like you would anywhere else and do the right thing- get yourself back on track.

Again, great company. I see these posts of micromanagement and affairs (which I will agree are many). Stay away from that trashy behavior and you'll be fine. You would like it. Strong company and getting stronger.
