Sad Future

We all know that the sales force will be downsized. But for those that remain, the future doesn't look very good. Seriously, the pipeline is very thin and the existing products will need to be deeply discounted in order to be competitive. Why LC is able to keep his job is really a mystery.

Are you insane? We have an awesome pipeline! It is stronger than several Big Pharma companies have. Also, do you think that our business development is not seeking new opportunities for this company to generate profit? I am fairly new to this company and I am quite flabbergasted by the apathy that some people have. You need to go work for another company for awhile so you can see what a difference the environment is here. What I see is an inordinate count of people who genuinely care about other people. You will not find this very easily in the current pharma environment!I sure hope for the sake of all of us that our managers can detect who these few naysayers are and remove them. We need positivity going forward for the good of all of us and the customers we are responsible to. This company is about to undergo major changes. I sincerely hope that the people who remain have compassion for those who are affected and beyond that realize their good fortune and seize the opportunity to rebuild the company and contribute to bringing the company to being profitable again. If we can't do this as individuals and as a team, more of us will be affected. It really is up to us.

We knew about this for years. What the hell has LC done to deal with it? If Eisai did not ruin Oncology and played it right, we could generate about $1.5 to $2B in Oncology sales through sales increase and acquisitions by 2013. We could also get the primary care products transitioned toward better lines. LC did none of those.

You are an idiot. If you think eritoran was risky, you ain't seen nothin yet. Yes there is a pipeline. There are problems with it. Same or greater risk as eritoran had.

Who is the idiot? At least I know that EVERY pharmaceutical in development has a great element of risk associated with it or the FDA would say, OK just go ahead and sell it! You are obviously a moron!

This can't be real. Someone is just trying to instigate sh*t on CP. There is no way anyone can be this incredibly dumb.

Eisai isn't doing much hiring in R&D. I guess they're expecting to make deals in order to generate pipeline.

And why do you think that there are deals waiting to be made that are better than the locaserin one? Every big pharma out there with much deeper pockets than Eisai is looking for deals and pipeline every waking moment. Why do you think Eisai has a better chance of getting it. Maybe because by now they have a reputation for overpaying for questionable assets.

A mystery?? Not really. LC has a job because Japan would be very hard pressed to replace him with a competent successor. Why would an executive candidate with more talent than LC want to work at Eisai. It is a sinking ship after all. The future is not bright.
