Oh for goodness sake...the accepted spelling is naive - from the French - sometimes there is a diaeresis above the letter i - end of story. Now let's focus on what is important. We have been told we must use this system and obviously, we have no choice. It will be an albatross and we will find ways to work around it for the good of our business. We know everything is tracked...how many orders we enter from web ordering, how many times we order from fingertip formulary etc so it is not out of line to believe we will also be monitored on our use of this "resource" as well. I have trouble with the logistics of scrolling through the information on my scratched monitor and also getting a signature on the same screen...which is often done as one is speaking with the doctor. I do not buy the "saving" the company money explanation....will they not still be sending boxes of unwanted crap to our houses for us to take out with the paper recycling? How much (especially in light of the wasted paper they send us) can a thousand Vis Aides cost? It is a monitoring move plain and simple and we will just have to figure out a way to do business without it impeding us to any great extent. It will be a learning curve but I have already been talking to those who have the system to figure out how to work with it.

Great post. Let's all figure out the system so it does not impede your ability to talk to the doctor. So fumbling thru several panels with a doctor is an effective way to sell and will be tolerated by the doctors. Sounds like BMS was sold a crock

Get a new dictionary, it is niave.

It is naive. There is a joke among the French that the bottled water "evian" is just "naive" spelled backwards - the joke being that stupid Americans are buying French (bottled) tap water.

I beg your pardon, if you will go to the Oxford English Dictionary, you will find the actually spelling is niave.

are you f'ing serious...in what world has niave replaced naive? typical drug rep trying to use bluster and reference to a resource assuming reader will accept it as truth.

I think you may be correct on the spelling - who am I to argue with someone who has exhibited such niave behavior in answering all my posts? LMFAO!

This back and forth over spelling is childish. typo, mistake..who cares? Are you that insecure that you need to be right or cant make a mistake? Are you so anal and superior that you have to point out every petty thing. That mentality is SO sad.

Keep the a/c on in the car and complete the detail before you go in - then have a real conversation with your customers!

Um, it's "can't", not cant. My god, and people think teachers are underpaid? They obviously aren't doing their jobs. (Or to put it your way, they arent doing there jobs.)

The message I got about INSIGHT sounded read from a script given to the rep by BMS. Everything I have heard is this is another way to monitor reps and will only piss off most docs who do not have the time to watch a rep fumble thru on a computer the same bullshit spreads seen on a brochure. The docs will stop seeing reps because of the added time needed to justify this great resource

That's hilarious! What did you expect? The script was written because of uniformity and legal concerns. We are under a CIA, so everything that comes from corporate will be a script. It did sound a little funny- as not everyone talks the same. However, the intent had to be to get a uniform point across.
As far as monitoring...they literally have GPS in your car. If they want to 'get you', they will. There is not a floor in NJ that is devoted to monitoring how long you spend on a call and DBMs have been instructed that they cannot use the information for coaching or monitoring. Reps will find a way to beat the system no matter what metrics are in place. I wouldn't worry about it.
The tool will be how you use it. Some will be better than others, but overall it has been a step in the right direction towards relevancy. Would you rather have another vis aid with claymates?

They do not have GPS in your car, but they do on your cell phone if you expense it.

Not looking forward to this new system and adding another metric to my daily routine. What has this job come to? Selling is prohibited.

If nothing else poa's is a good chance to take a break from the daily metric routine and see some friends. Not this one though. It will be intense.

Had this system at another company, came here and launched present, now insight. It is pointless and truly gets in the way of selling. Yes, it's a vis aid like any other. However, it is large, cumbersome and ever present. Easier to pull a piece quickly from my bag then may lap top, take it out of hibernation and find the page I need. I have always hated these. Solution, detail yourself in the car, or on the way there, or while you blow dry your hair. Then go our and do your job- sell product!

Okay, now here's the bullshit. Here I was a couple of hours ago in a sample room waiting for the dr to stop by. Insight and call max are up and ready to go. Time goes by and now its 30 minutes later. Dr stops in and we go thru a 2 minute Onglyza presentation. No damn way in hell to get to Plavix, but I have to flip thru 7 screens to cover my ass and to make SAS. Now let's follow this through. I just made a 2 minute Ong call and falsified a PV call to cover my ass for start. Marketing will see a 35 minute call and think its the norm. Then the bullshit will start. Anyone else been in this situation yet?
