In boon for Pfizer and Merck, CDC panel backs expanded use of pneumococcal vaccines

With an expanded recommendation from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCV) from Pfizer and Merck are poised to scoop millions more eligible U.S. adults into their fold.
