Medicare Part B premiums to drop 3% next year, partly due to limited Aduhelm coverage

While announcing the premium decrease, President Biden noted “for years, [the Medicare premiums] fee has gone up. Now, for the first time in more than a decade, it’s going to go down.”

Part of the reason for the decrease is linked to Biogen’s controversial Alzheimer’s drug, Aduhelm, and its lower-than-expected reach following its approval by the Food and Drug Administration in 2021.
