FDA Allows States to Approve Their Own Coronavirus Tests

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to march across the United States. There are now more than 4,600 confirmed cases in this country, and  85 people here have died from it, according to the John Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center. State and local governments are taking intensive measures to help mitigate the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the disease, such as closing public schools, gyms, bars and restaurants, and banning large gatherings.
