Zoll Temperature Management?

Recruiter called about a division of Zoll called Temperature Montioring. Does anyone out there know anything about this division? Recruiter says $150K first year, $170K + in subsequent years. Real or real snow job?

Anything you know about the division, product, longevity, reception of product by clinical call point etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Ha...Temperature Management is the ugly stepchild of Zoll. They have been pushing it for years and it has gone nowhere.

I am interested in learning about the comp plan for this division? Looks like they are looking for a VP of Sales as well. How many reps are in this division? Do they get paid on capital and consumables?

Thanks

fiscal year is out of sync with hospital budget years
Capital arm needs more clinical support to demo and educate during process
You are run thin and expect to sell sight unseen against much cheaper, reliable competitors
It is frustrating and sucks. You will do fine if you can find a few hooks but good luck implementing all by yourself and building another account at the same time. Its not worth the time, effort or money and the people (management/clinicals/sales) are not anything to write home about. I would give a thumbs down overall.

Can someone explain to me what is the exact reason why tempearature mangagment technology's prospects are not great ?

so far I hear the following: -

1) Limited indications i.e. TBI
2) Not likely to be used in wider/common setting like ER ( Why is that and what would it take for ERs to use it).
3) the system is complicated to use compared to other competitor systems ? Can someone name an competitor system.
4) system leaks ?

I have been offered a in-house position and I truly want to understand the prospects of this technology. I am a bit confused because it sounds like they are hiring to push this but why would they waste their money on something that doesn't work ?

thanks !

In my personal experience when someone is trying to push or rush your decision, I would pull back the other way. There is a reason they are so desperate.

you need to look at both sides of the fence to understand. From the sell side, the company has a ticking clock on IP and inventory in rears (e.g. tooling, manufacturing, supplier contracts etc.). They just want to get it out the door and used then fix problems (version 2.0). The issues you list are spot on and partial. From the buy side, its ownership! ED's are revolving doors to standardize practice in second, its ownership once unit is "upstairs" who manages and why. Understanding and linking the value between disciplines is key.
I must also make one comment, you say you have been offered a position already inside however, you have no idea about the competition, devices, indications for use, clinical evidence or the market of use in general? It's not meant to be a slight but do you think they value you? Good luck.

He brings great value since they probably aren't paying him anything.

Zoll is not able to successfully launch products. Temp is a dig, Hospital Wearable is gone, Heart failure patch is gone, Therox is a joke, etc. John Rennart needs to go.
